Good evening everyone and this is lucky Ali again back with another video. Upgrading levels is the net task for me but currently, I am entering the frey for the next brawl. Right now I don't have enough merit but my goal would be to gather more merits.
The only way is to upgrade the levels and play more brawls. Actually getting rewards from the battle is also the way to accumulate more merits but we have to focus more on brawls so that we can go one step ahead. Currently, my income from my own guild is not up to the mark but it is good that I am investing in the buildings.
Currently, I have 2 level lodge, a 2-level hall, a 1-level arena, 2-level barracks, and a 2-level store. My plan is to upgrade all of them. Now DEC is no more available for a contribution instead you have to use guild power. To get guild power there is an option to convert dec to guild power. Actually, I am contributing to all the buildings to increase the level. I am not forcing members to contribute but if they play well then it is enough for me.
Anyway as I said in the video I have selected the frey now I will share the brawls for sure. Have a good day/night.

I think you should ask the player to contribute whatever they can contribute.
I have seen that most of the Guild doing the same things. It is also players responsibility to contribute to grow guild, as later they will get benefit by that.
If you feel hesitate to ask them then you have to invest more Guild power by own self.
This time my Guild is playing in level 6, so my guild team get almost 6k merits from each brawl.
