Justin Trudeau Labeled Worst Prime Minister of Canada
Pier Poilievre, a 45-year-old member of Parliament, rose to fame when outgoing Prime Minister Justin Trudeau became infamous in the eyes of Canadian people angry over Canada country’s broken immigration system, skyrocketing dismal economy, and home prices — issues that earned Justin Trudeau the title of "worst prime minister of Canada”
But lately, unlike Donald Trump, who has gone full-fledged with cryptocurrency – from minting NFTs, speaking at the Bitcoin Summit 2024, and, most recently, launching his own Memecoin which name is trump official– Pierre Poilievre seems to be quietly retreating from the cryptocurrency scene.
Perhaps it was the attack from his arch-rival Justin Trudeau who labeled Pierre Poilievre irresponsible for advising Canada's people to invest in cryptocurrency.
And now, with Donald Trump sworn in and Poilievre going to take Canada’s top job sometime in 2025, the United States and Canada could find themselves on the verge of an unprecedented cryptocurrency renaissance and this is possible if both countries elect pro-crypto administrations. After seeing all these things people are expecting that Canada is going to become cryptocurrency capital soon.
Pierre Poilievre opined during a public appearance meeting in 2022 “The current Canadian government is ruining the Canadian dollar, so Canadians should have the freedom to use another decentralized currency like bitcoin,”.
Pierre said this after Canada’s historic anti-COVID truck driver protests forced the Justin Trudeau administration and the financial system of Canada to seize cryptocurrency assets and freeze bank accounts from law-abiding peaceful protesters.
Canada needs more financial freedom for people
“Canada needs more financial freedom for people, less financial control for politicians and bankers” Pierre Poilievre later said. “This includes the freedom to hold and use cryptocurrency, smart contracts, tokens, and decentralized finance (defi).”
Trudeau said, “Telling normal people they can avoid inflation and becoming an owner of their own money by investing in cryptocurrencies is not responsible leadership,”.
Even other Conservatives criticized Pierre Poilievre’s financial advice and according to them, this was illogical and risky. But despite going silent on cryptocurrency since then, Pierre's most recent public asset disclosure report still shows him holding Purpose Bitcoin – a Canadian spot BTC ETF – above the $10k CAD disclosure threshold.
Today, during his inaugural address, Donald Trump also remained silent on cryptocurrency issues, but at this juncture, it’s clear both big politicians are bullish on the emerging asset class which is crypto. trust me this is going to change the world.
