As has been our habit since before we left Iowa for STURGIS, we made time to work on our fighting skills. Rhonda is proud of how far The Kids progressed. As for Lindsay, I noticed that she tends to go Moe-Larry-Curly on people.

ποΈ Before David Guardia picked up the people who would be part of first the combined group I call Our Heroes and later the group we know as Felix Legion, he was riding alone. Then he was riding first with the uncanny Manny Rey and later with independent trucker Rhonda Bella. It was after Rhonda joined David that he began to pick up riders.
First among them were Hank and Frank, the Brothers Marchenko. While we know them mainly as The Twins, they made their debut in GHAWG (the Rat Bike portion of it) as brawlers fighting over paying off a sports bet. Their fighting skills are beyond question. Later we meet The Kids, UNC foreign exchange students Sanjay Rampersad from India and Lionel Odunsi from Nigeria. When we see them first practicing their fighting skills, Rhonda herself told them they look like old ladies slap-fighting each other.
The only member of Felix Legion whose fighting skills we didn't know about was former far-left activist Lindsay Etxeberria. Given her adult history, she didn't seem like the kind of person who fought by the rules, and this zapfic entry shows her fighting style: more Three Stooges than Drunken Master.

ποΈ Mobile phone woes; who among us hasn't had them? Sanjay Rampersad is no exception. Frank Marchenko confirmed Sanjay's worst fears about his device. As we will see in later zapfic entries, it came at the worst possible time for him.

ποΈ Last time we saw Sanjay Rampersad in contact with his family back in India, he was telling Rhonda Bella Guardia about a cruise his family and that of his betrothed, Rekha Ramakrishnan, were going to take. Rhonda joked that they would need to charter the boat because the two families were large. Sanjay laughed at her joke, and he was in good spirits, as he usually is. This voice message his mother leaves him is most distressing, and due to his mobile phone woes he will never hear it.

ποΈ This is the storm which felt more like an earthquake: as mysteriously as it began, it ended. In earlier times, destruction like this would have been attributed to the epically large sea monster we know as The Kraken. Whatever the case may be, ships crew and all passengers lost their lives. Zee News itself is one of the news networks serving the population of India.

ποΈ This travel entry, like many others written for GHAWG and Rat Bike since 2023-March-05, includes place names which make some of us ask ourselves "Is that really the name of that place?" It can be surprising the names we discover just by studying a map for even a few minutes.

Original plan was to reach Summerville via Interstate 79. That would have made the ride a bit longer, so we opted to ride Route Virginia 60. Just south of Mink Shoals is Charleston, one of the better-known cities in the state.

ποΈ This travel entry has an interesting combination of place names: other city names, family names, descriptive names, even a body of water (as in Chesapeake Bay). This was only a fraction of the names Felix Legion encountered while riding on this stretch of road.
