There are games like Splinterlands and Rising Star which use their own Layer 2 tokens. There are games like Hive Dice and Lucksacks Poker which accept and pay out in HIVE.
Does anyone know of any games (even if it's under construction or in development) which use existing Layer 2 tokens? For example, a game with prizes or purchases done with LEO, POB, NEOXAG, etc. !PIZZA and BEER would be the best bets to get such a game made.

Well, you can use Pizza on Rising Star to buy packs of cards even though the game is not built around it.
In fact, you can use many tokens on Rising Star such as Vibes, DEC, LEN and they keep adding more from time to time.

Yup they have also removed tokens before as well. It was probably like half a year ago or so when they removed FARM from the list due the pegs not really holding quite well.

Oh, and also, sometimes the game developer runs tests with a few other tokens that are not officially listed on the game site, but if you send him a DM on Discord he will hook you up.

Rising Star is probably the best game that allow people to buy using many different tokens. It supports VIBES, LEN, HIVE, Starbits and there are probably a few other.
I also know that Dcity also allows people to buy and sell NFTs for various Hive Engine tokens through the use of https://nftm.art/buy.

100%. Should go for the mass adoption, at least within Hive community. It makes sense since almost everyone is using Hive-engine and have access to multiple layer 2 tokens. It would be a great use case for those tokens as well. More distributed circulation.

PIZZA is the leader in this. I used to think it was just for engagement, but behind the scenes PIZZA is a major player in driving traffic and bringing in revenue. It's connection to blockchain gaming is a natural fit.

You can also use some of these LAYER-2 Tokens like PIZZA and BEER in DCity. Events can be created in the game by spending these tokens.

Today I got to know that you can buy Splinterlands credits with hundreds of crypto options like HIVE, LEO, BTC, ETH, WAX etc. Also, you can buy DEC directly with HIVE, BTC, ETH etc. but not LEO.

But you can swap LEO to swap.hive and buy DEC with that. And since transactions are free....one extra step ain't gonna kill ya.

Yes, that option is always there. It comes in handy when you don't have Hive but other cryptos.
Also, I can directly use my LEO to buy credits which is quite convenient.
