What's happening behind the scenes to bring new GHAWG content? The GHAWG Diaries is my recap of what I've been doing.

Introduction

There's more to #GHAWG than just daily zapfic entries and the spreadsheet I use to track them. There's research. There's review. There's also thought and inspiration. Then there are the tools involved in doing any of those tasks.

Just to keep things from getting scrambled in my head, and also to document for myself what I've been considering, I began keeping a diary of my activities as they concern #GHAWG. With posts in the GHAWG, Uninterrupted series on hold at Interlude 3 while Act 7 remains in progress, I decided to share these diary entries with everyone on Hive blockchain.

On Mondays which don't feature a GHAWG, Uninterrupted post-- GHAWG-U-- I'll post diary entries from the previous 7 days or between GHAWG-U posts if the time between them is short. For Part 44, there are 7 days' worth of diary entries. The first entry starts on 2024-September-02.

Before anyone scratches their heads at a few terms, here are 3 I began using many posts ago:

TermMeaning
Rat BikeCode name for #GHAWG (the first and current zapfic serial)
Blue LionCode name for the middle zapfic serial in the GHAWG Universe
The BronzeCode name for the final zapfic serial in the GHAWG Universe

📓 Yesterday I wrote about the trouble I have with the conditional formatting my spreadsheet uses to highlight the zapfic entry I select from a drop down list. I was under the impression that the rules were corrupted or created incorrectly. Today I solved the problem, and the conditional formatting did what it was supposed to do. The problem was with how the database was defined. I had used a static or fixed value to define the database (the cells which define the named range used by the drop down list). Once I replaced the static value with a dynamic value, the conditional formatting worked as intended.

What clued me in to this fix? The field which shows which zapfic entry was selected was instead displaying the `#VALUE!` error code. When I reviewed the formula used by this cell, I saw that I was using a value which was out of range. The switch from a static range to a dynamic range was the fix I needed to solve this problem. One less thing to worry about.

📓 Today I went back to the spreadsheet to review the GHAWG timeline and add to it. When we find [David Guardia](https://inleo.io/@magnacarta/re-leothreads-xiqrq), [Rhonda Bella](https://inleo.io/@magnacarta/re-magnacarta-2cyfm6wqo), the [Brothers Marchenko](https://inleo.io/@magnacarta/re-magnacarta-lu49xsps), and [The Kids](https://inleo.io/@magnacarta/re-magnacarta-kzafogej) meeting [Harry Hoqualogue](https://inleo.io/@magnacarta/re-leothreads-67ltig) in [STURGIS](https://inleo.io/@magnacarta/re-magnacarta-2wd73hxgs), the date (for them) was 2028-August-07. After that [fateful meeting](https://inleo.io/@magnacarta/re-magnacarta-jj2nvubj), the timeline jumps ahead 10 days to 2028-August-17. After that, I reviewed 100 zapfic entries to see where the days changed. During this stretch of `Rat Bike`, distinguishing one day from the next wasn't as much of a consideration as it had become later. At the 100th of these zapfic entries, [Our Heroes](https://inleo.io/@magnacarta/re-leothreads-2ujniigzn) were in [Northern California](https://inleo.io/@magnacarta/re-magnacarta-urv5gth) on 2028-September-03. The ride from the Oregon-California state lines to San Diego, California, US would last between 10 to 14 days in GHAWG time; I'll have an exact figure later.

📓 Yesterday I took the GHAWG timeline to 2028-September-03. Today I took another crack at the spreadsheet to add to the GHAWG timeline. It turns out that it's around this date where it gets confusing for me if I use only the spreadsheet. Next time I work on the GHAWG timeline, I'll need to cross-reference the spreadsheet with digital maps of California. Using dates as they exist in the spreadsheet, David Guardia and Rhonda Bella become David and [Rhonda Bella Guardia](https://inleo.io/@magnacarta/re-magnacarta-2aptrmldp) on 2028-September-12, when they [get married](https://inleo.io/@magnacarta/re-magnacarta-2aptrmldp) in [Riverside, California(https://inleo.io/@magnacarta/re-magnacarta-2jz7armx4), US. By the time I reach this moment, their wedding may end up on a different date in the GHAWG timeline. At this moment, I just don't know.

📓 While I was running errands in my neighborhood I was listening to music. It's been many years since I last heard "Boléro" by Maurice Ravel. "Boléro" is known for at least 2 reasons, and for people in my generation and older for a 3rd: the complete piece of music lasts on average 16 minutes; it's associated with bedroom activities; and it regained popularity when it was featured in the 1979 romantic comedy _10_ starring Duddley Moore and Bo Derek.

As I was listening to the short excerpt from "Boléro" I was thinking how it could be used as background music for a chase scene. This would make sense for a chase scene featuring cars, and I had considered that various times many years before I discovered [cryptocurrency](https://inleo.io/post/@leoglossary/cryptocurrency). Now I was thinking if "Boléro" can be used for a chase scene featuring motorcycles only or motorcycles and cars together. I'm not saying I would do this for `Rat Bike`, but if the opportunity presents itself I will write a scene with "Boléro" in mind in this way. Should I use "Boléro" outside of The GHAWG Universe, ir will be for a sequence where multiple storylines converge to bring about a climax.

📓 Today I cross-referenced digital maps with the zapfic entries recorded in my spreadsheet. Determining where one day ends and one starts was more confusing than I had expected, but I was able to extend the GHAWG timeline through 2020-September-21. I was able to pin down the wedding date for David and Rhonda Bella Guardia to 2028-September-10. That's also the same date David Guardia [spoke in tongues](https://inleo.io/@magnacarta/re-magnacarta-53rqpw8b) to a group of [homeless people](https://inleo.io/@magnacarta/re-magnacarta-un8cqlqc) at [Venice Beach](https://inleo.io/@magnacarta/re-magnacarta-2926xjvzm) in Los Angeles, Caligornia, US. However, I also discovered that the 7 days [The Newlyweds](https://inleo.io/@magnacarta/re-magnacarta-2aptrmldp) gs were apart from both [The Twins](https://inleo.io/@magnacarta/re-magnacarta-ersijtxm) and The Kids turned out to be 10 days; I'll need to correct that when I port `Rat Bike` from zapfic to long form. 2028-September-21 is when all are reunited and begin the ride east along Old Route 66.

📓 What kind of people are Lindsay's Etxeberria's _parents_? When we meet her in [Portland, Oregon](https://inleo.io/@magnacarta/re-magnacarta-drtnhidv), US, we see that she is a [far-left activist](https://inleo.io/@magnacarta/re-magnacarta-huzjcygv). David and Rhonda Bella Guardia confirm that she is the person they found on the side of an Iowa road half-dead and bloodied. If her parents were a certain type, then Lindsay could have been a regular child who concerted to leftist causes while in college. If her parents were of another type, then Lindsay may have been a leftist ever since she could remember. Perhaps her parents were very strict with her and she became a far-left activist as her way to rebel against them? Maybe her parents were indifferent to her as a child and being a far-left activist was her way to grab their attention, a cry for help? It's even possible that both she and her parents were on the same wavelength from the start and her recent transformation as a person would disappoint them? I don't know how to write about the relationships within the Etxeberria Family. Given that the family reunion is 2+ storylines away (first, the end of the ride along Old Route 66, then getting The Kids back to [University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill](https://inleo.io/@magnacarta/re-magnacarta-ecr1kzhx), then winding down David Guardia's Epic Ride in Iowa), I still have time to figure this out.

📓 Today I should have been able to publish the Weekly Summary post. I covered each day of the week, I provided commentary for each zapfic entry, and I added the backlinks. However, thanks to my embedding of actual zapfic entries the formatting was out of whack. Several formats were used to get the content looking as intended, but they weren't 100%. For that reason I postponed publishing the Weekly Summary post to tomorrow.

📓 Today I went back to the spreadsheet to review zapfic entries in order to extend the GHAWG timeline. As of now, the GHAWG timeline goes to 2028-October-5. At the time I was writing entries reaching this date, I decided to fill gaps or rewrite altogether the New Mexico portion of the ride along Old Route 66. It will take me a while to link these entires-- as many as possible, anyway-- to what I had written originally, so I will leave that task to another day. If I recall correctly, it was in Texas or Oklahoma when I began to be better about deliniating days in GHAWG time. The spreadsheet is looking ugly with lots of red text to go along with the default black text, but that's OK; the zapfic entries were always meant to be a first draft, and that draft remains in progress. If I get David and Rhonda Bella Guardia back to his new home in Davenport, Iowa, US before New Year's Eve, I will be surprised.

When (and Where) To Catch #GHAWG

When

This is the normal schedule for the posting of content for #GHAWG:
● Daily -- Each zapfic entry is posted shortly after midnight, from New York
● Weekends -- Weekly Summaries (with modified screen capture from LeoThreads as cover image) are usually on Saturday, sometimes Sunday
● Monday -- Either GHAWG, Uninterrupted if present, or The GHAWG Diaries
● Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Sunday -- GHAWG Behind the Scenes -- The goal is to publish these posts on all days not dedicated to the Weekly Sumamry, GHAWH-U, or The GHAWG Diaries (TGD). There may be days with no post, so I'll minimize those occasions as best as I can.

Where

● Daily zapfic entries drop at LeoThreads, usually posted shortly after midnight from New York (sometimes around noon)
● All long form posts-- Weekly Summaries, GHAWG-U, and TGD-- can be accessed using the #GHAWGnav sticky post or from my InLeo profile page
