The reason why some of us stay too long or arrive too late in our life's dreams is basically because of what we value. The world is full of ideas and tons of information both online and offline yet picking the right source is very mandatory and also tactical in the process. There is a need to understand the world is filled with people with varieties of problems that need attention. Nevertheless, every problem may have its niche or should I say environment where such solutions can thrive. Sometimes we just jump into being a channel of solution without actually knowing the category of people such service should be rendered. It mostly happens and some of us will be left frustrated after years of hard work and concentration.
It happens in businesses
You know, good business is 'selling what customers want and exactly where it is wanted'. Many fail to understand this conceptual ABC of business and venture into what they prefer the consumers to buy. This trick sometimes works but it will cost you going big to effect such changes and you know what this means. Truth be told, good quality products merged with the wrong consumer platform is bad business. The best I would advise is to understand the consumer's need and innovate upon the need rather than bringing something very new to the system.
If a product will not sell, then it has not met its purpose, in short economists call this an incomplete production. Yep production must reach the final consumer to prove its worth. You will soon be out of business if it is personal by thinking they should opt in with your production ideology. Maybe you've forgotten you are not in the market alone, your competitors are always ready to outplay you. You know in such a state they only have to pick up from where you've missed.
It happens in skills acquisition
The difference between skills and business is the fact that it's always mainly for a side hustle. Sometimes people pick the wrong side hustle that does not fit their environment. When market demand for a service is too narrow, you could be having a lot of challenges of generating enough revenue even if you are well committed to the process. Funny enough, some people just acquire skills for skills sake without knowing its importance. Skills are meant to add value to your revenue and when that is not accomplished, you are merely selling what you wish rather than the market demand.
Even in online skills, we have seen many waste their efforts on rendering services and products that the public is not interested in. I guess that's why some people say that their online presence is not generating anything tangible or may even view it as a waste of time. Without you understanding the audience, you could be doing your personal business and you know it is not you that is meant to pay yourself but rather the consumers when they find your service profitable. Take a look at writing on the hive platform, we have always seen how a well generated content that has no AI and plagiarism always scales. This is true because this is what the readers want, humans writing out their personal emotions and views of things.
It happens in our careers
A lot of people rush into careers without knowing if there is a tangible available market. This challenge continues to persist in the educational sector. People just go to read courses that add little to nothing about what they intend to offer. The main idea is just to be involved in the schooling process which is a bad decision making. We have seen it hunt many after the entire process and having to learn new skills that they may use to survive the market.
There is a need to do a clear feasibility study when picking a career through sensing the environment within you. How will this career affect my immediate environments? Are there possible alternatives and how effective can this alternatives be overtime. I guess we something do some eye service when picking careers that is meant to foster our future. One mistake and you are left with service with no market. You've missed out in what true value is, it is bundle behind the outstanding problem that the masses are putting eyes everywhere looking for its solution.
Isolating a product or services due to personal interest can create chaos in career, business and acquired skills. You may necessarily not have to be the best to thrive when selling but if your product is already out of consumer context its more like gameover. Consumer are always the decider of your service worth. To you it may seem the best, a hot service, a cannot do without, a must try and as many as you may want to term it but to the consumer it may just be one word, 'no', and it settles the entire debate. Next time you want to create something new, always do well to checkmate the aspect of who are my consumers, am I selling a personal product or what will definitely sell?.

I agree with your point here. Checking how your environment is and studying what is likely to thrive there is important when choosing a career. If this is ignored it might be the reason behind a determent in thriving.
And Hey, the Hive zealy campaign is still on and running, you can still contest to win prices, it all depends on your resilience to work hard and contest for the prices. How the prices will be distributed is already announced as well.
