The problem with Ripple is that they market their business partnerships with Banks as a good thing for XRP, while they use a different database to help banks make transfers.
People buy XRP expecting to benefit from the work of Ripple Labs, while in reality it's just an illusion because of very scammy marketing.
That's what the SEC is suing.
False Advertising at its finest.
