L2 scaling on ETH makes a bit more sense than L2 scaling on Bitcoin. In the end both methods are way harder to implement then L2 scaling on hive.
If they are going to compromise decentralization of layer 1 by using only L2 which are more centralized than hive, there's really no point, it's just harder work for devs.
