Most of us don't. You know that, I know that. But as you say, most of us skim it for anything that might be pertinent to current thinking or for anything vaguely not shitposty. ie, stuff about the platform or mechanics that are being discussed to control stuff about the platform, like the pegging of HBD.
So no. We don't go there for content as a rule but it's worth a skim to keep up to date with what's happening. And you know that and you admit you do it. Just not enough in this case. It was more than a week or two, I would say it was a raging hot topic for a while.
I'm not judging. We all take time out. But it wasn't some minor thing hidden away.
So back to my point. Whilst trending is renowned for not being where people look for content. Most still skim it to see what happening. Even those who use L2s as is apparent by their sudden appearance on trending topics.
