I think Hive's true potential is the information layer for Web 3. Every company has "factual" information that needs to be safely recorded and stored online for anyone to access. Hive solves this problem. Also, it would give the individual companies actual control over the data, rather than entrusting a third party - and paying for AWS storage fees or whatever other cloud provider they might use.
