Yesterday, I watched the movie "Beau Is Afraid," which is a blend of dramatic horror and comedy. It captivated me in an adventure that seemingly won't go smoothly. #hivelearners

I haven't seen this one but it's giving me Midsommar vibes. The plot is different but the description is very similar, I have a love/hate feelings towards this type of movies... They can be pretty disturbing.
YES! I like movies like this where things aren't so obvious, and the feeling of discomfort is something I appreciate.
Haha, I really like this types of movies but I can hate them too.
The protagonist is none other than Joaquin Phoenix, who portrays Beau, a paranoid man living in a chaotic society. The unfolding of the plot is based on Beau's need to carry out the funeral of his beloved mother in another city.

However, a series of surreal events seem to try to divert him from his journey at any cost. He must confront his worst and most absurd fears to fulfill his duty.

What you'll see in this movie: A series of surreal and funny events, situations that simply seem crazy, and another incredible performance by Joaquin Phoenix!
I saw it on my grill. It immediately caught my attention. After seeing the trailer and some spoiler-free reviews, I was assailed by my doubts. I have it on my list to watch...haven't decided yet.....
o.o i cant watch horror but this is a good photo to get people to read the thread :p
But this is more of a psychological horror. The movie brings a sense of discomfort due to the bizarre events that unfold. Perhaps this is a film that even someone who can't watch horror movies would be able to watch.
owh I see . then I will have to give it a look. thanks for the info
I love Beau is Afraid, it comforts me. Ari Aster gave us a masterpiece, even tho is such a weird film.
What I like most is the strange way the movie unfolds; I personally found it brilliant, as well as enjoyable!
And of course, I would like to invite two friends to participate in the Weekend Threading: @shiftrox and @gwajnberg.
