It is a matter of fact! The quantum computer exists and works.

In the 80s Dr. Richard Feynman feared the possibility that quantum physics could be applied to computers. In the same years, Commodore Vic-20 was coming into the stage!!!

But what is extraordinary about a Quantic computer?

Simple

All computers, even smartphones, taken in their most basic form, the bit, elaborate decisions on 2 possibilities: 1 and 0.
The binary notation.

Well, the quantum computer subverts this notation and gives rise to the QuBit: the bit no longer represents only 1 and 0 but represents them simultaneously.
In quantum computers, we no longer look at the examination of "switches" where (1) is the closed circuit and (0) is the open one. Instead, we examine the states of matter (or more precisely of the atoms) that can be for a percentage x% for the position 1 a percentage y% for the position 0.
This is why tow scenarios can be represented simultaneously; hence, the calculation is no longer sequential as for the Bit, but parallel.
Therefore, being the QuBit able to consider double the scenarios of a Bit, with 2 QuBit, we have the possibility to consider four times the scenarios!
This is the reason why quantum computers are much faster than the fastest computer in the world today.
The applications of such a computer are the most varied, and in a world like the present one, where everything is based on IoT and Big Data, the speed of calculation is growing its importance.
A bit like the salary: you can have it as big as you want, but it's never enough ...

The advantages offered by such equipment are incalculable. Let's imagine the construction of a bridge: the mathematical model could have a multitude of variables and leaving nothing to chance. The construction would certainly be much safer than it could be designed today.

Medicine could enjoy these computers, in the molecular realm; and also meteorology, which, as we all know, requires a multitude of calculations to be able to forecast the weather. If we can put an aeronautical arrangement of devices that manage a myriad of variables per second with as many scenarios, the accuracy with which atmospheric events could be predicted would be impressive.
All this not to give Mrs. Mary the opportunity to do the shopping taking an umbrella with her, but to foresee catastrophic phenomena and be able to defend ourselves.
Many countries of the world base their economies on agriculture, and damaged crops should be avoided.

In a sense, "Quantum Supremacy" is assuming greater importance than the nuclear arms race a few years ago.

The field of artificial intelligence will also benefit from these super computers, and who knows, maybe the positronic brain designed by Aasimov may become a reality ...

But let's come to us, I said that the quantum computer exists and works, but who managed to make it happen?
No, it wasn't Apple, however cutting-edge, it wasn't her; but a Mountain View company: Google.
Well Google, with its Sycamore, has managed to obtain the first Quantum Supremacy.

The processor is based on electron technology and was able to perform the same operations in 200 seconds that the fastest computer currently would have done in just 10,000 years!
It is clear that silicon technology has now come to an end.
Trying to make a last, desperate, attempt at improvement would be like expecting that a cyclist with a strong training can stay ahead of Valentino Rossi with his bike!
Obviously, depending on the type of particle on which the processor is based, different results are obtained: a few days ago, the Chinese quantum computer Jiuzhang, based on photon technology, was able to perform the same operations in 200 seconds that the computer more fast the world would have done in 600 million years.

Now the key question.
Since the validation of a block of the blockchain is the result of the execution of an algorithm based on Brute Force, what will happen to the Mining Farms and all the ASICs?
I await your answers in the comments!

Hi! Very interesting article!
One question, maybe "stupid": Could the quantum computer be influenced by human thoughts?
Based on a principle of quantum physics where an experiment could be compromised by human thinking that the results are what is expected.

Thanks for dropping by.
Yes, I really think so. Like quantum computing aim to find a solution that is stable in time and space (usually), we also know that when we are unconsciously thinking, sometimes, when we get back to reality again, we do not remember any more what we were thinking a few seconds earlier. So yes, I think that electromagnetic fields can play a role into this calculations

Interesting Article. Is Google's Sycamore world's first quantum processor?

Not exactly: Google was the first to achieve Quantum Supremacy with Sycamore, which at the moment seems to have been taken away by China with their Jiuzhang. The first quantum computer dates back to 2001 and was made by IBM, with a computing capacity of 'only' 7 Qbits.
