RE: How Much Does Your Passport Worth? The Henley Passport Index

in LeoFinance3 years ago

Thanks for this article. I have been wondering for some time about this chart and finally I got it.
I am lucky that I have an Italian passport.
Anyway, I expected also Iran to be in the worst passports area. A friend of mine has an iranian girlfriend and told me that if they were going to Iran, for 5 years they would have had problems entering USA.

Sort:

I'm glad you find it useful. Well, your Italian passport puts you in a very good position.

About Iran, there's also a political aspect, that is hard to bypass. There are countries that will not allow you in, no matter how much money you have, if you're coming from a not so friendly territory. This is not easy.

Yes, this time being Italy comes useful.
Yeah, I see your point. And yes, some countries will be a damnation for someone, because they will issue big prejudices upon them.
I knew some Kyrgyz guys that could not go into the USA if they did not have a special document, that they had to pay to request it without being sure of getting it.
Sometimes I feel that chatting over social networks, trading online, making business from home make us among the most lucky people on Earth and in many countries big obstacles are on the way to different forms of freedom.

I couldn't agree more. We have a huge advantage many countries don't have. Imagine there are countries where the internet is still censored. You can't access different sites, services and someone is constantly watching. That must be terrible.
