RE: Reverse Kimchi Premium: South Korean Martial Law

in LeoFinance8 days ago

For a month now the people have been pushing for impeachment since he didn't really apologize for bribes his wife was taking. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cjr41499pdlo

The opposition party was big majority in midterms. They were ready to impeach him and to defend himself he declared martial law. That is a very 1979 thing to do. It doesn't work today because the military is not really with him. It also doesn't work because citizens filmed the whole thing. Forty years ago it was done in secret and was kind of like Senator Palpatine became Supreme Chancellor. This morning 12.4.2024 was just a big mess. Miraculously democracy is still alive in Korea and the martial law is withdrawn and soon the president will be withdrawn. https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2024/12/03/south-korea-yoon-martial-law/

Looking at the history of Korea, I wonder if it is run on an all or none algorithm.
