Intro

Earlier this year I decided to start a series documenting my journey of side hustles. And these truly are just side hustles for me. The time I spend on them is limited. And the progress is slow. But what I show you is genuine.

No get-rich-quick schemes. No fake promises. Just pure, regular progress. And if I can do it by not spending that much time. You can probably do it even better. I will share everything. My failures, my successes, lessons learned, my thought process, and exactly what I did. So if you are interested, follow along on my journey. Better yet join in. Get this e-mailed to you every Thursday by signing up for my mailing list.

And if you missed the previous updates, here is a complete list for you:

Hopefully, in a year or so, we can look back at this list as a roadmap to a successful side hustle.

Update #10

It’s a long way to the top. Some things are improving. In some, I feel a bit stuck. But overall direction is still clear and I am not going to stop. I also feel like I need to bring the Faceless YouTube channel back into the equation. But this week might be pretty busy as it is. So if I don’t manage to make a new video. I will next week.

Earnings

Total: $41.42

Breakdown:

Print-on-demand: $0.61

Affiliate marketing: $40.81

This week: $0

Breakdown:

Accomplishments

  • Series started — April 21, 2022
  • First photos accepted to Shutterstock — April 26, 2022
  • First video published on Youtube — May 5, 2022
  • First sale on RedBubble — May 10, 2022
  • First referral on Medium — May 12, 2022
  • First actual affiliate sale 34$ — August 7, 2022

Affiliate Marketing

No new sales, but I am getting more traffic and my story on how I turned my Medium articles is doing really well. And generating clicks on my affiliate link every day.

How I turn my articles into videos

So far 8 people have signed up to Pictory.AI(affiliate link) using my link. That’s four more than last week. But still only one sale.

Last week I wrote an article on how I get free crypto online with some affiliate links. But this hasn’t generated any income for me yet.

4 Ways I Get Free Crypto Online and You Can Too

And I am also still writing about Medium every week trying to increase my referral count. Still just one so far. But I feel I might get some more soon if I keep going.

Print-On-Demand

I have been slacking on adding new designs to my RedBubble store. But the store gets barely any traffic. And that’s probably because my designs aren’t among the most popular niches.

So I think I will need to improve my strategy, and I am planning to start a new store focusing on the Christmas theme. This will give me plenty of time to get some designs ready until December. And I think those will have a higher chance of getting sales.

Goals For The Week

Overall goals:

Keep making more content, improve the quality of my writing and designs, and branch out to reach more audiences.

Affiliate marketing:

  • 1 article about Medium
  • 1 article about Pictory.ai

Print-On-Demand

  • New shop
  • design a new type of design

Longer term:

After uploading 100 designs on Redbubble branch out. Maybe create an Etsy store.

In Future updates:

  • A transparent look at my progress
  • I will share what I have learned
  • I will share other valuable sources of information

Interesting post - thank you ! Something which would be useful would be to show the total amount of time you've invested into each side-hustle. I appreciate most of them have what you can think of as a "setup time", on top of the weekly grind of promoting them, looking after orders etc.

But hopefully what you'd see is the earnings gradually amortising the setup time, so that you can eventually analyse each one down into an hourly rate. That way, you could see which ones were worth the setup time, which ones deliver the best consistent income per hour spent, and which ones can start delivering income without extra time commitment.

Thank you! Very good recommendation! I will think about how I can implement that! :)
