When buying gold and you have an item you cant take apart because it is not yours, estimating the gold content is important as it can be the difference between profit and loss.
Before you do anything you need to check for a hallmark and this had a British 9ct hallmark from Birmingham, the next thing is to think about what gold is there and i estimated about 1.3 grams as it looks equivalent of a small ladies ring. This takes time and can sometimes go wrong but today i got it pretty much spot on with it being 1.44 grams and i managed to get it a little under scrap value.
The item is somehwhat unusual as you would think it is a pendant but it is actually designed to be a watch fob on an albert chain.
