So pretty much the same mechanism as on Hive. Today I heard about the Grill app which is on the Polkadot chain. Same thing - stake and use the app. They all work the same, just like on Hive, you need to stake the native asset and you are good to go.

I think Hive has a great community! That's one of the advantages Hive has. However, through different social media dapps, other chains have great communities too like Farcaster & Base.
To be totally honest, dapps and features on Hive are way outdated in my opinion. Also, Hive is missing good DEXs. Splinterlands is probably the only A tier dapp at the moment while Inleo is definitely getting there. Most games on Hive feel like someone's hobby created in spare time.
Nah, if I remember correctly, you need to stake 5k Bulb($3-4) and then you get energy points that'll allow you to post, comment, etc.
So once staked, it's free.
