The term "metaverse" has its origins in the 1992 science fiction novel Snow Crash as a portmanteau of "meta" and "universe." from then it have went through different modifications and reached its current position.

Basically metaverse runs through a technology named “blockchain” which is a peer to peer networking system where there are no central authority and runs by nodes. It connects users from every corner of the world through users' own identities known as “wallets”. Using a wallet a user can just roam around on metaverse, the idea of using wallet is called web 3.0 .

The use cases of metaverse are a lot in our day to day life. We can attend office and other working sectors with the help of metaverse, attend different communal ceremonies, meet with friends, attend parties and so on. We can now do online shopping and purchase anything with the help of our user defined special avatars. Big tech-giants like Facebook, Tesla, Microsoft, Apple, Twitter, Epic games etc are hopping into the metaverse with their own products and communities.

With the view of discussion made above in general sense it may seem that metaverse doesn”t actually have a bad side but everything which has a good side also contains some bad impacts also and metaverse is not an exception. Specialists think that living in a virtual world like the metaverse for a long time would impact our social life where we will be more focused on the virtual world than reality.
