Writing is honestly indispensable in our personal lives. Apart from the fact that you’re not writing a book or anything that's personal or deep, we now all write to people through text messages. And being able to communicate your message distinctly makes a difference and will tell on the kind of response you'll get back.
Essay writing is also another part of the English language that’s taught in schools. Whichever way we turn to we can’t ignore writing in one form or the other.
However, writing articles here on Hive is another beast on its own. And every Hiver author has got to face theirs on their own.
It’s not like writing a book but I'll say it's more like writing chapters of a book every day. It could be chapters about your daily living like a dairy you keep. At some point when you keep writing here consistently you’ll get to a point where you’ll have to question yourself on why you write.
Why do we write
Some people like to give advice to readers through their writing. Some like to give out important information. Some like to just talk about their days and how it went- to them, hive is their day-to-day dairy.
Apparently, Hive writing could mean different things to different folks. But the point is passing a message. Or let’s put it in Stephen King's words, which is drawing readers in to see a world you're creating and at the same time keep making them want to keep reading.
I think the fact that he’s able to write multiple books consistently with each one grossing high without having to hype himself up shows how much effort he puts into his craft.
Writing a book however is not like writing here on Hive.
But it can be if we choose to.
One thing I love about Hive is it’s decentralized at its core. I know some would want to debate that, I do too. However, Hive is decentralized if you remove the rewards by declining rewards which makes it ineligible for upvotes or downvotes. None of that matters.
Removing rewards on articles is a topic many people have discussed on chain and off-chain, but I think that’s something each one of us has got to decide as there’s a way for you to decline rewards if you don’t want it.
Sorry for the distraction, let’s get back to our writing board.
Recently I’ve seen some authors here who treat Hive like a book hub. If you ask me what I think, I’ll say it’s fantastic. Tbh, I’ve not for once had an idea like that before, nor has it crossed my mind that it’s something that could become a reality. I.e Turning your hive page into a book hub by breaking it chapter by chapter and publishing each one as an article here on chain.
Turning your Hive page into a book blog has potential
When I saw a blog about a book on Adambarrat page, I read through it, by the time I was done(which took a while cause it’s a whole chapter from a book) I made a comment about how the book is interesting and how I would like to have a physical copy.
But unknowingly to me, it was a book written by our fellow Hiver @ Adambarrat which he was posting on his Hive page, chapter by chapter. His reply was eye-opening to me which was where he made it known to me that it's a book written by him humble self.
He asked for my location and after disclosing it he made it know to me that I might not be able to find it around my locale and that the only possible access I could get is by reading it here in his blogs.
With that being said, I had to start from the first chapter after realizing I was reading the third chapter
I think I’ve heard Taskmaster talk about building a database here on Hive blockchain. Leoglossary was a smashing hit with how task has been able to build something exceptional and different from random articles about daily activities, the latest crypto trends, and giving life advice.
Life is all about our perspective
Same goes for Hive
From Leoglossary to adambarrats book that is live on Hive blockchain, it got me thinking about how I’m treating my blogs and articles on Hive. Not only that but also what I’m striving to achieve with my daily writing routine.
This is not my first time of questioning my own writing plans here on Hive. I do this once in a while to gain another perspective about why I write and how I can improve my writing.
And I think treating articles like a book can work out here if I want it to. However the 7-day reward that is a core Hive blockchain mechanism might have seemed like a barrier for others who have thought about this same idea before.
That’s ending with soon™️
I mean inleo.io ™️
For those who are not yet aware of the new inleo frontend benefit, I want to inform you that all articles posted using inleo.io are now eligible to earn you rewards after 7 days in accordance to how many page views and eyeballs it gets.
With the new update, I’m now encouraged to keep going back to my old articles and see what could be added, be it new links, or some simple refining. And with my new articles, I’ll keep my focus on what’s important to readers.
But I don’t know what’s important to many readers here on Hive as it’s filled with different types of people from different locations, with different mentalities.
Nonetheless, I think with a great writing skill and with more experience coupled with consistency, it’ll be easier to know what is suitable for readers. Until then, what would you want to see more on your feed as a reader? Share your ideas in the comment section.

Considering the power of the blockchain to hold information forever and ever, creating a book through blockchain must be wonderfully beautiful.
And of course it has the same value as a paper book or a digital one, because in it is what is written by an author expressing his ideas through original content.
Yes, it is.
There’s a whole lot that can be achievable with Hive that many of us are not looking at yet.

With the look of things so far, I feel visiting people's pages on hive and reading through their past blogs can tell who who a person really is. One can live with another and not know about the person fully until he or she visits their pages on hive. This is because Hive gives one the opportunity to live to the fullest....
I mean I basically can write about anything, that's crazy and I mean it in the most positive way
