The situation is twofold. On the one hand, as you correctly noted, the independence of cryptocurrencies from the existing banking system is being lost. On the other hand, I do not see any options for how cryptocurrency can become mass, without the participation of banks. We can adhere to the romanticism that banks are atavism, and all crypto holders are free people, but it will be objective, without the approval of the existing economic system in the form of banks, cryptocurrency will be outlawed.
