Tap-to-earn games: a pathway to mass adoption of cryptocurrency? A critical look at the dynamism

For some time I have been reflecting on the reason behind so many telegram games and why the surging numbers in recent times. The antics used by these players are what should be called for concern. Now all telegram games are a medium for making users participate in other games to earn points and coins. Before now, joining any telegram game was optional, but now it is appearing compulsory for every user. Every day we see new telegram games coming to light. With all of these, the question that usually comes to mind is this, have tap-to-earn telegram games already brought mass adoption to the crypto space? This is the question that has been running through my mind. With the explosion of telegram tap-2-earn games, it has become so easy for people to be easily adopted into the cryptocurrency industry.

I have seen people who were ignorant of anything that relates to cryptocurrency being able to do one or two things in the crypto space, a lot of people who could not know how to transfer funds from one wallet to another are becoming masters of the game, also, people are already getting used to different crypto wallets and exchanges and how to sell one crypto to another. This is highly commendable. However, to what extent does this tap-to-earn game enable mass adoption? We should not also deny the fact that so many people are dedicated to these games for the profit they stand to gain for doing so and not necessarily to be adopted into the crypto space. We can easily see people giving up on a particular telegram project who have lingered for a long time without listing. We see people boycotting those projects and casting aspersions on them. Above all, some will go to the extent of reporting a project's social media page for listing airdrops below their expectations. These only point to one fact they are here for the money and not to support the system's growth. Most times whenever I come across people like this, I will ask them if everyone happens to take from the system and not contribute anything to it, would they have gotten anything to gain from it?

We can agree to some extent that Telegram tap-to-earn games help drive massive adoption of cryptocurrency but not entirely true. The value of the decentralized game sector is set at $31 billion currently with a prospect of hitting $90 billion by 2031. The message is clear that more web3 games are coming into the sector. Hence beyond depending on the gameFi to bring people into the ecosystem, we can also educate people on the dynamics of cryptocurrency and web3. Also, tap-2-earn owners and developers should look beyond building and developing a short-term project that will have a short-term impact. This is why whenever a token is launched, people hardly have anything to do with such a project any longer. With this instead of people coming only for the reward distribution, they can do that for the knowledge they have about it.
