The world hears content creators say, "Support my Patreon," several times per hour. The world never hears content creators say, "Support me," then directing them here to Hive. Yet here, those supporters get to keep their money. Derp?

Sort:

Much better to get paid directly on the blockchain, than potentially be held hostage by payment intermediaries, the bank, or the platform itself.

So when you look closely at the other support options, you'll notice they always take a cut. Consumer wants to support the individual, and loses, yet still achieves their goal. Look closely at what we have here.

yes, the commission is another reason to be here instead of patreon

As a consumer, yes. We've changed the world. Now, what can be done to prevent them from being influenced by "the community" attempting to convert them into content creators and setting that crowd up to fail, then eventually leave?

Patreon is much easier for the consumer to understand. Also, I'm pretty sure consumers can request refunds on Patreon, but probably not on HIVE.

Do you need to speak to the manager before selling your staked tokens? Indeed Patreon is commonplace, but not at first. Nobody knew what it meant until the consumer heard it and looked further.

Yeah, but people only started to say "support my patreon" After it became Commonplace... Maybe we have to let HIVE be known!

No, Patreon gained popularity due to consumers hearing it from people they already trusted. The method is still being used, and Patreon becomes more popular, daily. Yes, that approach is effective.

Derp. !DOOK

lol yeah. It is a bit of a derp. I just don't know how to get this ball rolling on my own.
