One of the major responses I get from people I invite to use LeoThreads is that they do not know much about finance, crypto, etc. Today I want to explain some basic things about LeoThreads and debunk the myth about it. Hopefully after reading this piece, you will get to try things out yourself.
So basically, the Leofinance community is a group on Hive centred around crypto, technology and finance. It has a robust ecosystem of dapps and Threads just so happens to be one of them. Unlike its long-form content platform, LeoThreads is a general microblogging platform. This means you can share just about anything.
The major idea behind LeoThreads is to increase on-chain interactions. Most hivians would rather interact with their friends or other hivians via Discord. Although this might seem convenient it is hurting the blockchain significantly by reducing engagement. Now people do not need to create long-form content to be on-chain. Through LeoThreads people can engage in small talks (about anything), and this helps strengthen Hive’s social health.
LeoThreads also addresses the issue of people’s short attention spans. There are very few people who can read a 500-word article. It is a sad reality of our world today and we need to take this into account while building the web 3 space. Content must be short and engaging, with a lot of visual cues to gain the attention of people. LeoThreads is a solution to this problem, and I will say it is solving it well.
Also, there are incentives for threaders. Asides, from earning micro upvotes on your threads, you stand the chance of benefit from the improved Leofinance curation system. Top threaders stand the chance of getting their long-form leofinance upvoted if they meet the required guidelines. So if you are looking to get more upvotes on your content, threading is the right thing for you.
In addition, threading gives you the unique opportunity to interact with more hivians than you can engage with on your long-form content. This is an important way to grow your audience and make new friends. I have certainly made new friends threading and these are people i would ordinarily not engage with, so threading has opened a new side to Hive I am beginning to love.
Threads also offer an easy way to learn about cryptocurrency, technology and finance while staying updated about the latest news in these industries. Remember, Leofinance is still rooted in financial knowledge. Using Theothreads keeps you updated on recent happenings in the crypto space. Also, you get to hear expert takes from the likes of Taskmaster on matters about crypto.
So in a nutshell LeoThread is open to everyone irrespective of your interest. There are no stringent guidelines to follow so you don’t have to worry about downvotes (as long as you act in good faith). I am looking forward to seeing most of my friends and followers on Hive on LeoThreads. Join me. Let’s talk about every and anything. Cheers!

I'd argue that the name 'LeoThreads' should be changed to something that is independent of a "crypto" name.
“Threads” then?
