Why not combine effort? You don't have to deal with directly with hive oligarchs to build.

Are you referring to communities which are Layer 2 on Hive, or communities which forked from Hive altogether?
forks mainly. But koinos in particular. Why are they not building on hive?
Maybe the forked chains won't build on Hive for the same reason Hive won't build on Steem: it's non-negotiable. It's just not an option regardless of what can be gained by returning. There is no price at which they will return.
