The shitpost is not the problem, if people like it then will be voting for it. If come many shitposter good for them, the thing will be not allow is those doing plagiarism, copy and past or reuse of content.

  1. Content creation is the vehicle used to drive this goal of distributing hive. It can be considered as an after thought, hence the poor quality of content and users' apathy towards consuming content

That's because objectively V can not define & code who is a consumer. A vote can be automated, there may be users reading without being hive users,& lastly who is commenting can be measured, but superficial commentators can't be filtered out

  1. Most people want to make money here not create content. The standard for quality and engagement is very low to allow the masses participate. However the masses only want to participate in the creation process that earns tokens.

We need a separate doctrine of "mass consumption" akin to "mass production". However it is easy to code a law for mass production, but not that easy to code for the former.

This is so true, and it discourages one especially those who love creating contents when there's no engagement in their post

For me, I honestly believe that more should be done well it comes to enlightened users on what it takes to create quality content, engagement and also to be creative, I understand thatsome do want manner's to fall without any effort

  1. This is not the case on other social platforms. For instance, when you go on a platform like tiktok your aim is to consume content and engage with it. You do not plan or wish to be part of the creativeprocess. Why?

Even for Twitter, do we ever bother about numbers vis-a-vis quality? But that's bcoz they already achieved that critical mass, and we are in the early stage to build that critical mass.

For a short video, u primarily watch it for fun or consumption of info. I have not seen any one commenting there without watching it. Bcoz there is no special incentive to become a superficial commentor.

The comment sections are the most effective on these sites and you wonder why that's not the case here. Maybe we should consider building something on-chain without tokenomics for the merits of building on a decentralized network

  1. You know you cannot compete. And if you have to compete it would require a lot of effort with no guaranteed reward. hive it is the very opposite

Exactly, incentives from the get-go make u explore the optional solutions, and that is in line with rational behavior(Game Theory in Economics).

U can even produce an artificial laugh if you are incentivized to do so.

  1. However, short from content platfroms on hive can revert this to some degree. Most people here threading do so because it is fun and it helps support a project they care about.
  1. If this narrative ever change, then we will have another platfrom full of spammers trying to milk the system. Khal and his team get to define the culture of this platform by what they promote and incentivize.

It's a very thoughtful piece you're sharing here. The mindset of the people must first change before their action. Many want to reap without sowing.

#threadathon #hive

There are many other ways "for wealth/token generation and distribution" on #Hive - #play2earn, #LeoDeFi, providing liquidity for local #dexs, putting your #hbd in savings account.

All these mentors require having some token to invest. Most of the people who end up here have nothing and will do anything to have it. This is not a bad thing per se if channelled the right way like leofinance is currently doing

Not necessarily true about people not wanting to create quality content. Some of us enjoy blogging. Look at me—I've been here almost 6 years and barely make more than $10 a post. If it was just money, I would have left long ago.

There are general facts and exceptions. Some people genuinely enjoy writing content (which does not mean they are good at it) and there is a pool of people who do so for upvotes (which doesn't mean some of them are bad at it either
)

I disagree with you completely. I agree I am not able to engage in long format content curation, that's because I don't have time. But I try too. I write passionately not to milk the system. Downvotes are a big problem...anyway
