Lol, yes setting an example can help, but the same argument against preaching can be used here. Crypto is the greedy man's game and big votes will get us what we want here and purely that.

Sure, to "lure them in” :-)
i agree, as a carrot. Thank you.
But it's not exactly a carrot, It's an invitation to add value to the community and potentially be rewarded.
By joining the community, and making a statement on the blockchain, stating agreement with community "rules" & stating name or link of the member who invited them, a potentially new member becomes a member, thus addinh value to the community via the #networkeffect.
Therefore that new member is likely to receive a reward for that added value, as is the member (if any) who recruited him or her. The amounts rewarded to the user is determined by community consensus.
Any community token rewards (such as $KLU) are gifted by consensus of all community participants as appreciation of added value.
Some rewards are pre-determined amounts, pre-agreed upon by consensus for standared tasks, like joining, recruiting, posting and.commenting (with criteria), sharing, etc.
Once a member has joined they will be encouraged to learn more about the community and governance system by way of educational material and multiple choice polls. Demonstrating a level of understanding by passing these mini knowledge tests, more rewards will come, as learning, leads to helping others learn, which leads to recruiting, has added more value.
We can nudge them gently, with a carrot of (potential) rewards, take them by the hand and lead them (and ourselves) through an uplifting adventure of discovering buried treasure, as opposed to pushing (as @freecompliments and i recently discussed) more effective.
i have become more aware this last day or two of how i have been pushing rather than gently nudging.
My actions of and ways of writing here on Hive, mostly using #Ecency, #DBuzz and #Leofinamce, have now been adjusted and will continue to be adjusted as more feedback is consciously received my "me".
Thank you for your continuing engagement.
