Gotcha, yeah those terms are pretty much meaningless.

It's the classic "oh no I would never use that, it's made of CHEMICALS 💀 " 😂

I thought petroleum itself was natural and the source of many artificial chemical by-products. Then again, chemicals found in nature are natural and those which are man-made are not natural.

I just did some research and it looks like petroleum, which isn't quite gas yet is produced by simply boiling the oil and separating the different densities this creates, so is pretty much natural enough, according to most standards

I thought it was something like that. Nothing special is done to get petroleum; it's just a matter of having the tools and the heat. In that way, it's different from how steel is made from iron.
