FUN OF AGEING

in LeoFinance4 days ago

I remember one show I watched sometime ago, where a kid said that; "aging is a process that pushes us closer to our graves." I can't remember the name of the show though. This statement actually hit me hard and differently, and it made me begin to see aging from another perspective.

As a child, I really wanted to grow older and do many adult things. Going to bars to grab a bottle, staying out late at night, not being over controlled, and many more, but one thing I failed to see is that, with growth comes great responsibility.

As a kid, I had everything I wanted and needed even before I asked for it. I was not paying nobody's bill but, my bill was payed for without my knowledge. All I needed to do was exist and sleep if need be. Sometimes I was even forced to sleep and get some rest.

Being an adult is actually fun, really, but when I think of the fact that every of my actions has a positive or negative reaction, I can't help it but try as much as possible to be very cautious.

Ageing is a fun thing that makes me feel good. I remember the joy I had when I began to get pubic hairs, beards and mustache. Lol.. you need to see the joy I had when I got my first shave.

Ageing comes with many episodes of new self discoveries, experiences that aids maturity and above all, the most amazing and annoying at the same time, responsibilities. You get to be responsible for everything.

During my kid days, I used to see aging, adulthood in general, as freedom, but now, I have come to realize that ageing is not real freedom, but an invincible semi-cage as there are many things that needs to be in checked, thus, draining your time (schedule) and energy.

Honestly, life isn't easy with growth, development and maturity. You need to pay your bills, take care of your mental and medical health, accommodate annoying people who on a norms, you would never accommodate, you get to keep doing that job you hate irrespective of the scoldings by your annoying boss, you get to pass through many hardships of life which will make you more experienced, but colder.

Personally though it's hard, I actually love it because I get to experience many things, the good, the bad and yes, the ugly and sour.

My only wish is that I remain at the age range of 25 to 35 forever. The major thing I fear about getting old is the sickness that comes with aging. Welp, I guess it is inevitable.

Thank you for reading.

aging is a natural order for humans and it's inevitable, we have to grow old. I don't think I can wish to remain within a particular age bracket, but well you have your reason

its actually inevitable to grow old.
