How To Know The Truth
If I will pay you 500 for telling people about me and somebody else pays you 5,000, who would you tell more people about? Knowing the truth or what the truth is can be very challenging, especially when you're not there when it happened or when it involves someone you love, admire, and look up to.
But here is a simple approach to help you get closer to the truth or what the truth might be in times of crisis.
If the person telling the truth has an interest at stake, the possibility of the person actually saying the truth is slim. For instance, if I know that by telling you that Jesus exists would make you give me money and that my survival is dependent on that money, even if he doesn't exist, the truth from me to you would be that he exists. Why? My survival depends on it, and I would do everything to prove it. Tithing! I mean, tighten your belt. Okay! That was too harsh to swallow.
Hear this one. Let's assume you ask someone this question: "Which is the best social media to build my business on as a copywriter, LinkedIn or X (Twitter) ?"
If the person has a course on building a business on X (Twitter), the person's answer to that question might not be the best answer for you. The person might say X (Twitter) because it has more followers. It sounds like the truth, especially if the person is a figure you admire. You know, we believe that public figures do not lie.
But when you carefully examine the answer, you might discover that the person said X (Twitter) because they have a course they want to sell to you about building your business on X (Twitter). So, the answer isn't because of you but because of their interests. They know that by telling you LinkedIn, they have lost a potential customer. To prevent that, they say X (Twitter) and pull you into their marketing funnel.
You stay stuck on X (Twitter) laboring for them while thinking that you're being yourself. When there's an open interest, truth becomes subjective. Lawyers would understand this better.
When a judge is handling a case that involves their family members or in which they have any personal interest, the judge is expected to recuse themselves from the case. Recusal means that the judge will step aside and transfer the case to another judge to ensure impartiality and avoid any conflicts of interest.
A person's interest highly influences the truth you're told. Even the truth they see. So, while you're seeing 6, another person can be seeing 9 because of their interests. It takes a high degree of self-awareness, discipline, and strong will to step away from that interest to see things as they truly are or talk to you. So, when someone is saying this is the truth, ask yourself, what do they stand to gain or lose? If there's any slight interest, their advice must be taken with care.
Another example is this: If you search for "Best xxxxx," e.g., "Best Hosting companies," the results you'll see are not necessarily the best but the best that will pay the writers of those contents. They rank their 'best' by those companies that can pay them more for affiliate commission. LOL! Okay. This is getting long. Next would be Googlization. Bye!

Sad truth is that Many people will go for the 5000 including me if I do not know the person. But these points are so amazing, this explains how the internet space works.
