Upvoting is one the incentivized way of encouragement. Also, a form of engagement with others So SELF-UPVOTES does not do any as mentioned. Rather otherwise.

I've accidentaly Self voted while I was reading hive comments on my smartphone, on that note I've also accidentaly flagged myself too. Lol!
You won't gain anything significant from doing that. When I see self-votes it puts me off supporting that person. Let the community decide what your content is worth.
I personally consider self upvote ethically wrong. This right should be given to other curators.

Well, this may sound funny but I see Self upvoting as a selfish behavior, and not in line with what Upvoting is all about, which is encouraging other user's contents.

Interaction is key to grow on the platform. It’si mpossible for him to self vote his way to earning more hp. Having 60hp even makes it messy, it's notworth shit in the larger scale when compared to interacting and getting votes from others.
That's not enough reason to do self vote. Even with such HP and LP you will be getting nothing. I think many. Choose to do that just for selfish interest.
Even with a large wallet I will never encourage self voting

Why is it even possible to self-upvote at all if it's widely unaccepted?
Is there any function or accepted use for self-upvotes in any circumstance?
Is it "OK" or not - still arguable. I don't think selfvotes should be TABU in all 100% of cases. I can justify them in some degree, especially if this is used to raise visibility. But 2-5 word comments are a totally different story.

If one put BIG effort, maybe 4-5 hours or more in creating long pots which brings value to the readers - why not let him honor this job with his own UV like all the others can.
