How To Spot Scammers On Crypto Twitter And Avoid Them

in LeoFinance3 years ago (edited)

Y'all know that Twitter is the hub for crypto news and updates, in fact, it has the biggest crypto community than any other social media platform, Twitter to me is where I get information about coins before I have to put in extra work by doing my own research and all that is need to be done including technical analysis, before I think of investing in that coin, although I still come on to catch cruise and clear my head most of the time when I have a writer's block and I need to unwind, before getting back my inspiration to create a more quality, creative and informative post or posts as the case may be.

But that aside, as people come on Twitter to get updates and news, from the Crypto Twitter or crypto exchanges or some interesting crypto enthusiast or guys who really know what they are talking about when it comes to crypto and loves talking about it, or those who teach people about crypto on their Twitter pages. That's the same way scammers and all these swindlers come to hurt for people to scam, on all these important crypto pages on Twitter where people go to get updates and news about crypto, either they ask you to send a direct message or they send you the direct message themselves or drop a link in the comment section under the original person tweet, claiming that they want to teach you. they use the real person's exact display picture so that it would be hard got you to spot them easily. it was not that hard to spot these scammers before, but now it is way easier to spot them with the new Twitter update or upgrade Author feature.

Honestly, spotting all these scammers right now is too easy all thanks to Twitter's new feature, I don't know if you have noticed it or not, but if you have not and are already using the new version of Twitter, try to look out for the new Author feature under the profile picture of the original account or tweet owner but those scam accounts don't have that. so you can just easily notice that these persons or accounts are frauds once you don't see the Author feature under their profile picture in the comment section of the original person's post.

Another way is to click on the person asking you for a Dm profile, you will notice the account is new and don't have many followers complied with the original account, with that way too you can figure out the account is a fraud. so be careful on Twitter there are so many scammers out there on Twitter, so be smart, observant, and safe.
