However, it's important to back hope with proof of work
Oftentimes the effort we put into our goals and dreams can make or break the results. It's not a bad thing to hope but to hope without putting effort is nonsense. It's like wishing you get a toner body but never lifting a pound at home or in the gym. But when you have hope and works really hard, success is waiting. Maybe not the first time you do it, but at least a step closer to it.
The example you gave is straight to the point, abrupt and concise. Hope itself is an instigator, a motivator, when we cannot back it up with proof of work, then it can basically do nothing, irrespective of how strong it seems
