Teaching You The Laws Of Power (Part 1)

in LeoFinance7 days ago

I was reading the 48 laws of powers for the... I cannot even remember how many times I have read the book but one thing I know for sure is that I love Robert Greene's books and I always find time to read them. I learned a lot from reading the book titled the 48 laws of power and I started learning from the very first page. This book actually looks at power, and human attitudes. With this book, it is possible to move without being noticed, and do a lot of great deeds even from the background.

For me, the first law in the book is to remember that whoever you intend to play this mind game on already read the book as well so you might think you are playing the game whereas you are the one being played. You are either using the laws or you are manipulated by the laws you think you are using. That said, let me go to the law in the book.

I will never understand why someone will want to outshine their master. I will never understand why a person will want to be at the front, making his master look like they do not know what they are doing. The moment a person starts to show signs of being smarter, bigger, or better than their superior, they are about to go out of the race. The best way to reach the top is to be a protege of the person ahead of you. They can easily tell you the things you want to learn and the things you would normally not be privy to get access to. When your superior sees that you are somewhat trustworthy or at least you deliver on tasks, you become the go to person for everything he needs and it is then that you have the real power and not by displaying short term arrogance.

Friends is another language in the dictionary that hasn't gotten a proper definition because you will be s shocked to notice that your friends are jealous of your achievements once you let them know. Most times, it is better to keep your friends close just so they can be there for you while seeing you lower then them and then let your enemies closer because at least you know where they stand even when they need to do business with you. The clarity of knowing where both you and your enemies stand is enough to make you both allies at least on getting the needed done rather than friends that might possibly sabotage you and your effort.

Something I have learned the hard way is how to conceal intentions. If you intend to succeed, you cannot keep sharing information to everyone and anyone. You need to learn the ability to conceal vital information because it leaves you opened to your opponent. Be strategic about everything you share, do not share everything with people, rather play your game like poker where you keep them guessing the cards in your hands.

Always say less than necessary because there is a saying that talk is cheap and silence is golden. Never overshare everything, allow other to share with you what they have because you need their information in the game of power as it is the most priceless currency. Never be the one who breaks the silence in the room, it is not in your place to do so, let other do it.

If you need to increase your influence, then you need to guard your reputation will all your might. Never allow your reputation to be smeared by gossips or fake news. while you hold on to a high reputation, stick to maintaining your reputation and fix your reputation because it is invaluable.

I could quote the entire 48 laws of power to you but it wouldn't change anything if you are not willing to work on them one after the other. Reading the lengthy one will not change a thing so it is better to hold on to the little one you intend to work on.
