You have described both exactly as they are... But, I have to say that I have built a lot more in RS for a bit more than a year that I'm playing, than in SL for 3 years... But, I suppose that that happened as competition in RS isn't that fierce as in SL...
And also, in the beginning, RS wasn't that complicated to play and understand... Lately, they have added a lot of stuff, but that brought a lot of value to the game, too... I liked Rising Star from the beginning, but I didn't expect that it will have such growth, and there is a lot more potential in the future...
