There's a good Internet example of tribalism from the past: back when web 2 social media was new, it was seen as MySpace was where artists of all sorts hung out, musicians, visual art, comedians, vloggers, etc. Facebook was seen where yuppies and rich kids and college frat/sorority types hung out. Facebook eventually won that popularity contest, but in the first few years both communities generally stuck to their own.
I can only imagine how much more web 3 can do this, as things are fleshed out and the internet becomes more and more dominant in our lives.

It is human nature. We seem to bring this in all we do.
