This is My Fourth entry for Business Card Design Contest. I don't know if it is allowed to join a fourth time. If can not please tell me. More details about the competition can be found in this post.
I don't have professional design skills, but I enjoy piecing together images to form aesthetically pleasing compositions.
My design involves examining the motifs/images available on Canva and determining if they suit my design. If they fit, I use them, but if not, I look for other motifs/images.
This time I want to make a more formal design for the front card, simple and easy to look at. For the back card, I want a more relaxed design to invite people to join discord Philippines.
This is step-by-step how I make it.
- Front card step 1 :
Give silver background, and put the logo hive.
Front card step 2 :
I put black rectangles at the upper and bottom of the silver background.Front card step 3 :
I put the barcode scan of Hiveonboardwhich I generated from QR Generator and give text.
- Front card step 4 :
I give more text in the bottom right for the address, and email. I change the icon color I get from Canva to gold to give it more attention.
- Front card step 5 :
I give another text here in the left bottom, and to make the design more attractive I added a red pattern with a polka dot-like texture in the bottom left and upper right. This is my final design for Front Card.
Now we make the back card :
- Back card step 1:
The same step as when I create the Front Card, add the hive logo and silver background.
Back card step 2:
Add the barcode of the Philippines discord using the QR generator, and give text upper, and bottom of the QR code and Hive Philippines text.Back card step 3:
Add the Philippines Flag so people know this is especially for the Philippines community. And add another element of gold color pair almost like a blue design and put it in the bottom.
- Back card step 4:
add another element of design and put it on the top, it is a different design from the bottom to give more variation.
After looking at this design again, I think not attractive and appealing to the eye, I have a hard time making the design look good because using not asymmetrical design at the top and bottom, I change the position of each element, increase and decrease size of each element, etc. - Back card step 5:
Finally, I came to this design, I change the Hive logo with Philippines discord logo. Add some text, change the color and make it smaller, and change the position of the element design at the top and bottom.
After people see the Discord Philippines icon, their eyes will follow the line at the top and bottom and move toward the QR code.

I also have 2 more ideas made but it looks very similar on others that have posted before me so I decided to scrap it out instead of people thinking that I copy them. Either way the contest was close to being done and Im happy with what I done.
