I don't know about Finland but I saw an article somewhere saying that in the U.S. it's at least partially because a higher than usual percentage of the workforce has chosen to retire early since the pandemic started.

I know a couple people who have taken this path - but they have been very able to retire. I don't think there are that many in their position.
I have heard kids are also quitting "toxic jobs" (normal jobs) and posting it on social media for likes.
