One of the worst steps taken when it comes to money is exposing your financial status to everyone around you. It's not ideal to trust everyone because only a few would stay when you are going through a crisis while others would turn their backs on you when they have milked you dry. Human nature is that when you share your financial status with everybody, they take advantage of that.
There is something called a secret account where it is only you that knows where it is, except for just one person who you trusted so dearly especially in your family in case something happens like death or on a sick bed. Money works best when secrecy is involved.
A friend told me of her dad's friend who went to dig a ground on his farm and hid a lot of money he has been saving because he couldn't trust his own family. When he was dying at the hospital, he was forced to open up to my friend's dad where the money was kept. He only trusted this man and when he recovered, he went back to change the position of the money.
One thing about building your financial life is never to share all about your money because the reason you have a secret account is to be able to make use of it when emergencies arise and be able to meet your needs without having to be in debt. People easily take advantage of you when they see you have a lot of money because, at that moment, they want to satisfy their own desires, not minding if you have needs too and when they spend all, they leave immediately.
People are only there for you when you are doing what they want and do not mind if it´s inconveniencing you, but as soon as you stop, they take you as their enemy. That is people for you. This doesn´t mean you should not help when your relatives or friends come for your help, but when they know your secret about your finances and they keep coming, when you do not give them, strife begins. There have been cases where friends and relatives are killing each other because of money.
This is why you must be wise not to share all about your financial status with people except for the one you trust so much. Never disclose everything about your finances. Before my mom died, the only person she trusted with her money was my younger brother who knew all her bank details. It was after a while she gave me access to it too.
Have someone you trust so much, either a friend or relative as a guarantor in case an emergency happened because life itself is unpredictable, we do not know what may go wrong in the next minute. Have someone who will have your Hive keys. You wouldn't want to work and let it go into dust, someone has to be able to have access into your wallet when there is any emergency. That does not mean you should keep secrets about your finances with your partner when you are married because it can be risky. You both owned the money as decisions should be made together when it comes to money.

Well, it's not so much about exposing your finances as it is about surrounding yourself with trustworthy people. If I have trustworthy people around me, I wouldn't have to worry about them using me for my wealth. But you are right about human nature though, cos most people will truly just milk you dry and leave you for dead

It's really important to keep the details of your finances to yourself and if things get bad, you could involve a lawyer. Some People would want to take advantage of the fact that you have money and the others wouldn't even be happy for you. It's just life.
