It may be one reason but I'm not certain with the exact issue but a cumulative of reasons leading up to their traditional rivalry. All that gold and silver would have built plenty of ships for the Spaniards. Meanwhile, Drake captured for the English the equivalent of their country's GDP.
Drake continued to fight the Spaniards but was not very successful. He died of Dysentery rather than in combat and was buried at sea.
