I'm a new Rider
As I have previously mentioned, I am a young entrepreneur who runs a family restaurant. There is no need for me to explain the variety of external problems that have affected the hospitality business and everyone in the chain of businesses that have been affected in this past year.
Among one of the difficulties that we hoteliers have experienced is the sudden temporary closure without any tool that will help us to get the business virtuous out of the crisis. Desperation sometimes activates a creative mechanism in our minds that makes us exercise crazy things or changes that we are not used to. And I, my friends, signed up with a team of food delivery drivers called Riders.
Since January I'm going to deliver food at home on weekend nights. I bought a second-hand bike, a helmet, and a backpack equipped with compartments for delivery.
Questions to resolve
I am often asked if working as a delivery driver in a company like Uber, Glovo or Deliveroo or others is a feasible business. What about the economic profitability of being self-employed to exercise the work of Rider in Spain? Is it a good business?
To solve all these questions I will dedicate several posts to describe different chapters that can help us to understand this business in depth and maybe encourage others to engage in it.
I could answer in parts my personal opinion about this business. I will explain in which environment is a Rider, what kind of workers are in this profession, even what kind of companionship we find. I will also include a chapter on how this system of home delivery has evolved in recent years and how urban centers have benefited this type of business because of the pandemic.
In addition to learning the strategy exercised by each of these competent companies to attract a greater number of customers with respect to their competitors. Including, my own conclusion about how each of these companies wants to position themselves in the market and what marketing strategies they use to complete their objectives.
We will solve in some of the chapters which is the preferred transport of the Riders. What are the virtues and flaws of each of them? What transport should a beginner use and what should he/she know before choosing any of the options.
I have only been riding for a couple of months. And in this time I have accumulated all kinds of information that I have proposed to share soon in a series of posts. In them, I will also explain what diversity of opinions there is regarding the different points of view, the opinion of the clients, the experience of the different types of business, and, of course, how it is lived from the skin of the Rider.
What financial benefits can we include in addition to our monthly benefits? How are the charges for our ride made and on what basis? What is the amount of each distribution? What financial part do we find outside of the law?
There are many relevant and interesting questions. I would like to share this information with the intention of generating good discussions on the subject, and to find new users who in their daily life also exercise only or supplementary the profession of Rider.
The f*cking Boss!
Thank you for reading me again. ;)
