I'm Quincy Kristoffer and this will be my first post here on LeoFinance. I must say that writing this is an exciting experience for me as I've always been sceptical about writing on this platform since I'm not as crypto savvy as compared to a majority of users on this platform.

Though I've been into the world of Cryptocurrency since 2017 and have been on several platforms such as read.cash and noise.cash where I get paid in cryptocurrency (BCH) for writing articles and making short posts, playing P2E games such as Axie Infinity and Pegaxy, actively trading cryptocurrency on spots and futures market and so on. Yet, I barely write crypto or finance related articles except in special cases since It's not my strong point.

I developed the confidence to write this article all thanks to @leogrowth's writing prompt for newbies on crypto and finance. #NewLion

This prompt made me realise that finance is an inevitable aspect of our life which we unconsciously deal with and talk about daily. Getting a job, side hustles, buying and selling, investing in a business, saving up for an apartment or marriage, and so on- it's all about finance. Hence, the statement "I don't know anything about finance" is nothing but an excuse since we all talk about it daily.

I'd be writing on several topics as prompted by @leogrowth.

Are prices rising in your city?

Commodity prices have been on the increase since 2016 following the arrival of the Muhammadu Buhari-led administration in Nigeria.

An economic recession took place which led to the arrival of a lot of Ponzi schemes as a means of pushing through the recession and economic breakdown. Like all Ponzi schemes, these didn't last and everyone went back to their usual buying and selling, and 7am to 7pm jobs which barely catered for their needs all thanks to the ever rising prices of commodities and zero increase in income.

It's been real inconvenience which everyone has been trying to adapt to in their own way until recently when the price hike suddenly got worse.
Prices are rising fast but incomes are not increasing at the same rate, thus making daily survival much tougher for the average man.

Not only have prices sky-rocketed, but the country's currency has diminished drastically that it's becoming valueless both internationally and locally.

Are you saving up for a PS5?

A PS5 is one of the many things I'm interested in but I'm not saving for a Ps5. Instead, I'm saving up for my personal apartment- a one bedroom apartment. I'm working towards a total of about $1500 (about 870,000 Naira) in order to fulfil this plan.

The cost of a the lowest one bedroom apartment I can get in Lagos is about $400 (200,000 Naira plus) which is the least of my expenses. The major expenses comes from furnishing the apartment- we all know how that can be for those that have spent on furnishing their own apartment at some point especially if you live in Lagos, Nigeria- where the cost of living is terribly expensive.

Altogether I'd require a total of about $2000 but I'm trying to cut down prices to a minimum of $1500. After which other things can be done later at a slower pace after I've moved in.

A budget of $1500 would mean I'd have to save $4 everyday for 365 days so I can attain this amount in a year. My earnings is about $2 daily on noise.cash and about $4 to $5 daily on read.cash. Trading actively on spot gives me about $5 to $8 daily and sometimes worse. Hence, I'd be able to meet up with this savings plan.

Since I'm beginning a new blogging journey here on Leo-Finance, I'm hoping to earn more and perhaps save more while using the "Reply2win" as my everyday mantra to build my network as stated by @shortsegments in one of his replies.

Conclusion

Building our finance is an inevitable part of our everyday life as we constantly look toward attaining betterment via every legal means which includes learning, investing time and sometimes money in the right direction.

This is the start of my new journey on LeoFinance and I'm looking towards building my finance and horizon, creating a network, and learning via interaction and publishing of quality content which the Leo community will find useful.

Hey, I have a question.

Is $1500 the cost of the apartment purchased? I used the translator and I think I read it wrong.

In Venezuela, a two bedroom apartment with a small living room and kitchen doesn't go below $8K or $10K depending on the area and if it's in the capital of the country it goes up to $20K.

You actually read it right. The cheapest I can get is about $1500 for a one bedroom apartment.
There are more expensive houses up to about $8,000 but they are two and three bedroom apartments. I'm simply starting small for now since I'm gonna be living alone.
