Upon becoming more active with my blog posting in 2024 one of the first things I blogged about is increasing my Hive Power. I made some delegation adjustments with the intentions of doing more of that and some other things that would set my HP increasing goal in motion. Aside from the original delegation adjustment I have done none of those intentions thus far. Today being the first HPUD (Hive Power-Up Day) of the year I thought it a good day to revisit that thought and make good on those words of mine. I don't have much time to put in any action today but in the upcoming days I'll be reviewing my delegations and possibly removing/adjusting them. I don't want to power up much of the liquid Hive I got just yet but it being the first HPUD of 2025, I want to participate in HPUD to some degree so here we go.
Well look at that, 0 Hive To Power-Up in my wallet. Looks like I forgot that I had put my available Hive Tokens on market. Sure I could cancel that order but instead I'll just make a small purchase of some Hive Tokens to power-up using my HBD holdings. After-all the intent of my held HBD is to attain more HIVE Tokens. Lets take a look at how easy that process is. First we need to head to our wallet section. Once there hit the icon next to your Hive Token balance. A drop down menu will show. Click on the word that says Market. Once you do so you will be brought to a new page that has HIVE/HBD trade orders. Set your order or fill one to initiate a trade. It doesn't get much easier than that and you can do it all right here on the Hive Blockchain.

I only purchased 100 HIVE Tokens to power-up. It isn't much but 100 power-up here, 50 power-up there, another 200 at some other point; it all adds up. Now lets go through the process of powering-up our newly acquired Hive Tokens to turn them into Hive Power. The process is just as easy as the above trade was, if not easier. Head to the wallet section of your Hive Profile account and once again click on that little icon next to your Hive Token Balance. Once you do so that same drop-down menu will appear as does when you are trying to go to market. Instead of clicking the market icon that is listed this time we are going to click Power Up. Once you do so, a window will pop up that will allow you to enter the amount of Hive Tokens you want to turn to Hive Power. Enter that amount and click Power Up. Boom, just like that you powered-up your tokens. It's just that easy and can be done in less than a minute or two!

Hive Power-Up day or HPUD for short is a day that the Hive community powers up liquid Hive Tokens and turns them into Hive Power. This is done to show support to the Hive Blockchain we all come to love interacting on. Of course any day is a good day to power-up some hive so if you missed this months HPUD, feel free to power-up those tokens regardless. HPUD takes place the first of every month. Since this is the first HPUD of 2025 that means we are in a new year. Adios 2024, its been nice knowing you but things aren't working out. It was a pretty good amount for my first power up. It also became a habit for me. I did at least 1 Hive power up every day for 6 months.
