I spend A LOT of time 'dicking about on Hive' as I tend to put it, not my phrase, I picked it up from the most excellent @abh12345, who seems, although still active on the chain, to be spending a lot less time these days 'dicking about on Hive ' himself.
I've been wondering of late whether or not I should also spend a little bit LESS time on the chain, you know how it is if yer a regular....
- Posting
- Reading
- Commenting
- Curating
- Trading on Hive-Engine
- Playing @splinterlands
- Waiting for something to happen with @exodegame so you can play that a bit more
- Jiggling yer Cub Defi funds around
- And doing all that across Hive Main, LEO, POB and SPT, well those four for me.
One can spend several hours a day keeping up with the (albeit enjoyable for the most part) churn.
But it occurred to me yesterday that I really should just accept that I'm a fully-fledged Hive-Dicker, and, well, just go with it!
Accept the fact that checking the various Hive communities is the first thing I do in the morning, and the last thing I do before I go to sleep at night, and something I do A LOT during the days too, every single day.
TBH I think this is me just accepting the very obvious truth that I've done pretty well out of Hive over the last few years. I've met loads of decent people through the ecosystem, both virtually and IRL in Poland then Thailand (the less said about Hive VR last year the better for me!) and the returns haven't been too bad either.
And I'm pretty happy I'm a T200 account holder, in Hive, and have a pretty decent LEO stake too, POB's getting there too, as well as being happily over-invested in @splinterlands, and feeling a bit of rage about that recent Twitter oxymoron too.
I'm still a blogger rather than an Investor, after all
I've had some good crypto investment advice through @leofinance - namely RUNE/ AVA/ OSMOSIS/ My stables strategy and I've done OK out of those, but I came to Hive as a blogger (after a chance encounter with an ex neighbour in Sainsburys of all places one weekday evening almost four years ago).
Writing is what I do, and the very occasional (very unprofessional) video, and this platform remains the best outlet there is, period, for my brain-thing to vent everything and anything it wants to, all of the stuff that doesn't fit into my professional blogging which earns me a regular fiat income.
And trust me, there is PLENTY I still want to write about, so why the hell stop.
And I quite like perusing the communities too - they can be entertaining, infuriating at times too, but that's decentralisation for you.
So I think it's time just to go with the flow and accept I'll be spending AT LEAST THREE HOURS dicking about on Hive every day for the foreseeable future.
Introducing the Hive-Dickers Community
I just had a brainwave in my brain-thing and decided to create a new community....
So I proudly introduce to you the Hive-Dickers community
For all those FULLY committed to dicking about on Hive.
This is a community for those who, in the past, may have thought they were spending too much time on Hive, but more recently have realised that they're OK with being a Hive-Dicker and are now just going with the flow.
The only rule for posting to the community is this...
Don't be a Dick.
Feel free to try it out!
TBH I've no idea why you would want to post to Hive-Dickers ATM: I got NOTHING to incentivise you with, but maybe that'll come.
Maybe it's just another option if you feel like you're spending too much time on Hive, to remind you that 1. You're not alone in feeling that and 2. You really should get over that feeling and just NOT worry about it!
And on that note....
I REALLY have to get off Hive and go and get on with some IRL shit!

Geez, it's like you are describing me. I suppose I am a Hive-dicker too, though I seem to be less invested that you despite being on Hive nearly as long as you. Hmm.. or maybe I'm just not as good of a hive-dicker. Gotta work on that.
Anyway, the more communities, the merrier!
Just gotta keep on Hiving!
You start selling miners let me know, I am in! :)

It hadn't even occurred to me, I might have to roll with it!
You and me both, I got some yard work I need to get done (Thanks for the reminder).
Joined your community.

Yup get to it! It's good to get out!

I can see this turning into a competition. Who dicks around the most 🤔
I need to think VERY carefully about a token name.
I'm IN, despite I doubt if I would ever accomplish the requirements needed
😁
Oh I think you are MORE than qualified!
Going with the flow is always good strategy in my book, even though it's often mistaken for dicking around. 😂
Just one step away from enlightenment I reckon. 😂

Yup, enlightenment, just around the corner!
It's in the same place as the next Hive Moon Shot.

Hehe, hive-engine, that is my therapy instead of going for shopping. Powering up, selling layer 2 tokens, buying, exploring the new tokens. Lately spending inordinate amounts of time on POB, BHIVE, CENT. Being proud I finally posted in mushrooms hive section.Life's little pleasures. Although I spend more time in Aldi and Morrisons rather than Saynsbury's in the past few months.

Right. Don't be a soft lad, let's go for a bevvy and a fag'!
(It is even a rhyme)
I have to admit, I am a d*ck.
Some of those qualifications describe me.

Lol are you me?

I don't think you need to star the word, there's no rude connotation in the way it's used here - more jovial!
It's time well spent, that's for sure!
Good day. You really devote a lot of time to the Hive blockchain, it is immediately noticeable in your publications and comments. We can confidently say that this is your favorite hobby that has been tightly integrated into your life. It's really cool and interesting. I really love your posts about the land you bought and where you work, it looks cool. I was born and raised in the city, so the topic related to nature is very important and interesting for me. In short, your blog is both useful and entertaining, you can always find something that may come in handy in the future. I wish you a nice day and success in your business. Thank you.
Hey thanks so much for the nice comment!
I do try to write with integrity!

Thank you.
Sorry, out of BEER, please retry later...
It used to be steem and sbd for me back in the day, do you know how crazy that was, to wake up and the first and only market to check was how sbd and steem was doing lol. Now I’m slinging through different chains eh!
Whoooo that’s hot 🥵
If I shared every single thought that comes to my head on every random day, I’m sure dickin about hive will be most of them...lol
Nice one...let’s see how it goes

The communities are a great place to put shorter posts I find - Hive remains my main posting platform - LEO for finance stuff and POB is a bit more random.
I think the most important thing is just write with integrity.
There are a few people who post more than I do, but I've learnt my limits and just stick with that, which is about 2 posts a day across all platforms.
A lot of time I struggle to even post more than one.
I like to use Leofinance for core crypto stuff which takes up majority of my content, while I use POB for my think tanks,...
Certainly my head wanders in more directions than these, I think so 🤔. It will be interesting see what else I could pen down.
Right, And has gotten me so far.

How comes you are gonna want to post and contribute to this community without being a Dick?
Oh being a dick is fine, just don't be a Dick.
You know this was meant as a joke, but based on some of the comments I'm half tempted to make it a t'ing.
Alright! then... ¡Dick On! ...Let's make it a t'ing! hahaha
Lol ... great one ... I would encorouge you to keep pushing and experimenting with communities and maybe build something bigger down the road
You know I'm sure I could do something with a Sociology community, integrate it with the main blog.
I was thinking about a token with a use case OUTSIDE of the Hive ecosystem too, redeemable elsewhere....
Would be rude not to subscribe here!
Still dicking around - Splinterlands, RisingStar, H-E, Cub. And waiting for a price hike to start offloading for a mortgage......
I think you might have just missed one!
