As the saying goes, where there is sugar, there are ants. As crypto prices creep up, more and more people approach and get involved in the crypto industry. All crypto players hope to reap huge profits from their activities. Everyone wants to reap the benefits in order to increase the assets they have.
However, on the other hand, we also know that where many people are gathered, there will always be people who are trying to find opportunities in adversity. There are individuals who look for opportunities to commit crimes, whether in the form of asset fraud, phishing, scamming, investment fraud under the guise of crypto or other forms of criminality. This crime is of course a serious problem that must be paid attention to by the public, especially crypto players, especially for new players. Don't let your intention to make a profit turn into a loss because you don't understand the situation.
Intentions and opportunities
Crime is always supported by two things, namely intention and opportunity. Without intention and opportunity, crime will be very difficult to occur. We certainly never know who has the intention to commit a crime. Because intention is not something that can be seen from the start. We can only see the intention when a crime has occurred by looking at all aspects of the modus operandi, motivation and strategy of the crime being carried out.
However, crime is not only driven by the intentions of the perpetrator. Crime is also triggered by opportunity. Another impetus for crime is opportunity. The opportunity to make people who have the intention to be more daring to act. Opportunities can make people who do not intend to spontaneously become moved with bad thoughts and thoughts to commit crimes. We can anticipate this opportunity so as not to make criminals carry out their actions. We as members of the community are expected to be able to protect ourselves and be self-sufficient in protecting the surrounding environment to anticipate crime.
Anticipate Crypto Crime
In the crypto world, opportunities for crime can be taken from various aspects ranging from the use of malware embedded in links and password breaches. For this reason, there are several steps to protect yourself or minimize the occurrence of crypto crimes.
1. Step 2 Authentication Factor
To keep passwords from being hacked easily, we can use step 2-Factor Authentication or 2 FA. This method is a verification with a unique combination in real time. I also used Google Authenticator to open an Id.Upbit account. My account will automatically log off every 3 hours. This is all done to guard against bad possibilities. Every login I have to fill in the password and Step 2-FA.
Unique Password
Criminals are well aware of many people who use birthdates as passwords. Therefore we must use a unique combination that is not easy to break, avoid using a date of birth, telephone number or what is commonly used as an identity. However, we also have to remember it easily so that it is not difficult when we want to open a password. Look for unique words or slogans that are very private so they are easy to remember and not easy to hack.
Don't open the link
Usually we are given the lure of airdrops, giveaways or prizes. They can pretend as legal officer. They will provide a link or email. When we open the link then we will be asked to follow their directions. That's when we unconsciously are known as victims of cyber crime. Crypto criminals will use malware that is included in the link so that all of our personal data will be intercepted and used as a way to commit crypto crimes.
These are some of the things we can do to prevent crypto crimes and we hope it can be a contribution on society aware.

You are right and I am completely agree with you that two factors are very important in this case because only intention is not working well if they are not getting the opportunity to have the cyber crime. your suggestions are great and in that way we can protect our wallet very nicely. thanks for sharing
