Since my discovery of The Man Cave community, I have developed a steadily increasing appreciation for it. And have invested into it accordingly. That appreciation has now reached the level where I would like to share some details of it with you. To encourage you to seriously consider investing into it yourself!

Before providing you my perspective on this community, dear reader, I would like to draw your attention to what I consider to be very important "support" posts:
- Dan Notestein, the head of @blocktrades, wrote one of the most important and informative posts I've seen, since I started posting in May 2018. If you have not read it, for your encouragement and reinforcement of why you are "in here," you owe it to yourself to read his "Hiveβs future as a 2nd layer blockchain network" post. An excerpt:
"Anyone can write their own 2nd layer Hive application that gives meaning to these custom_json transactions, and they can do it without requiring any changes to the βcoreβ Hive software." - Built on the foundation of what Dan's technical post clearly describes as both possible and "ready to go" is the potential covered by @taskmaster4450, in his "ERC-20 Passes Value Of ETH: Road Map For Hive?" post. An excerpt:
"For years now, the focus has always been upon the main token. For the present user base, this is not likely to change. However, as new people join, entering the ecosystem through the different applications, we could see a different mindset. Under that scenario, those individuals would be a lot more concerned with Splinterland cards, art NFTs, or SPEAK tokens. HIVE will be viewed as something in the background; a bonus if you will."
A future where the value of a "side chain" token is worth more than the underlying "base" blockchain token? Yes, that is exactly what we are talking about. Members of the LeoFinance Community are not only familiar with this concept, they are banking on it!
How about a "new kid on the block(chain)?" Is there room for one more? Of course there is!!
With that introduction, let's talk about The Man Cave community and its new token - BroCoin (BRO)!
Since my discovery of The Man Cave community, I have learned that I was mistaken in saying it is new. Much better is to say it has been relaunched. Here is the post where this was first announced on the community's @brofund account.
After being a part of the community less than a week, in highlight, bullet-list format then, here is what stands out to me.
Favorable Impressions:
- Prompting my almost immediate purchase of a few BRO tokens was my due diligence discovery there was no airdrop of BRO tokens. Instead, @raymondspeaks is "controlling" the initial pricing by selling them at 2X the price of HIVE, i.e. it takes 2 HIVE to buy 1 BRO. Nice! π
- Once the initial release of 20,000 BRO tokens is sold, the next "phase" of release will be to set the price at 3X the price of HIVE, i.e. it will take 3 HIVE to buy 1 BRO. Even better! π π One objective is to reward the early supporters of the community. Very nice!
- At the core of any enterprise, it is ultimately only the people behind it who matter.
While I make no claim to knowing him well, as this is my first experience with the man, @raymondspeaks has made a favorable impression thus far. Further, since he has "been around here" since 2016, he has a number of good connections and they appear to be backing this community.
If you've been around for any length of time and join the community's Discord server, you will likely quickly recognize the account names of some of the community's significant supporters. We can already see some welcome signs of the resulting synergy and some community "cross pollination" taking place!
It's early days yet and "Rome wasn't built in a day" as the old saying goes. From what I have learned so far, what will I be monitoring closely over the weeks to come?
Watch and Wait:
- Upon discovering The Man Cave community had actually been around awhile, why had there suddenly been such a surge in interest? Unquestionably, it was the decision of the @america account to delegate almost 300K in Hive Power! Who is this? What are they looking for in return for their investment? How long are they willing to wait for it to materialize? If it doesn't, what will they do?
- As far as I can tell ... π @raymondspeaks is human and not a bot! He has maintained a very high profile presence over the few days I have been a part of The Man Cave. His community building experience really shines through. However, while he may wish to prove me wrong, I doubt the investment of that much time is sustainable. Who will he find to replace him and keep the "chemistry building" going at the high level he has established so far?
- @raymondspeaks has mentioned there will be a future release of some exciting new features for this community. Cleverly (?) not providing any details, it is left to the trust established thus far. What will these new features be? How will "the market" view them? How long do we wait to find out?
For reasons far beyond simply my age, I have never been (nor likely to ever be) a gamer. While I welcome the influence of gaming in adding value to our Hive blockchain, I am hopeful of a future that has a far greater vision of what "can be" than simply playing games all day (night).
With this overall favorable impression (I am not easily impressed), I have not been slow to act on it. One of my all-time favorite sayings?
"When all is said and done, a lot more is said than done!" π
As my Man Cave introductory post indicates, I executed my first ever Hive Engine transaction for buying a new token within the first 24 hours of learning about it. A couple of days later, I 10X'd this opening position, given what I was experiencing and seeing.
How about now?
Making another + 2X purchase of more BRO this morning, I am now in the Top 10. As I discussed in the community last night, I had toyed with trying to get my BLURT converted to BRO, but there are too many layers of difficulty at the moment (@swap.app, where are you? Save us @swap.app!π).
So ... As I always keep plenty of "powder dry," I decided to bring in more resources from Bittrex. This will likely HODL me for awhile, but ... You never know!

Oh I actually Met Ray on the Neoxian Server! Then found out about his mancave project when he mentioned about it while we were chatting on the neoxian discord. I have known him for 5-6 months now maybe, not sure exactly!

As stated in my post, the considerable delegation committed to it has been immediately put to good use curating. And daily the curation rewards are divvied up, based upon the number of BRO tokens held, and transferred to your wallet.
The "cross pollination" referenced has been interesting to watch unfold. Not sure the best way to express it, but there is value being derived by association with some of the other communities, value bases, e.g. dCity ...

... I can echo those same sentiments. As mentioned in my introductory post on The Man Cave, while
SteemHive Engine has been around a long time, I had never once purchased a new token. Until this one ...At the beginning of my post, I intentionally touched on why any of us should consider the potential for something much greater than just holding HIVE. From my perspective, a lot of these early Hive Engine tokens didn't amount to much, if anything.
But ...
There are always exceptions, since we both know the majority of business start-ups fail. But the ones which make it? I believe this one can be in that category ...

I have like 20k bro coins on Bitshares but I think they are worth nothing. Wish there was a way to transfer them here. Lol.
Hmmm. As you read here @syedumair, I am new to the Community, so that is "before my time." That said, I am pretty sure I have read the old tokens still have value and are for tipping.
How to get them off of Bitshares and into Hive Engine? Don't know. I would encourage you to join the Discord server (link in the post) and ask in there. I would imagine someone there should be able to help you, if you wish.
