Gone are the days when finding airdrops was difficult on the internet. These days, The Open Network (TON) has successfully created an ecosystem where developers can build mini-apps onboard users to The Open Network Blockchain. This simply means that airdrop seekers don't have to look further; they can simply launch their Telegram app to effortlessly participate in different projects of their choice.
Before the buzz of Telegram mini-apps, I had often neglected airdrop links sent to me, but not anymore. I am usually the one who ends up asking for links to Telegram mini-apps. And it has paid off much more than any airdrop I had anticipated in the past.
Just in the last few months, I have witnessed numerous mini-app projects launch, contributing to the growth of a decentralized ecosystem. Notable projects include Notcoin, Catizen, PixelVerse, and Dogs. Let's not forget about Hamster Kombat, which is launching on September 26th.
If we look back in time to when Dogs launched, we'll recall that The TON Network was down multiple times. For the same reason, I was also expecting it to possibly happen at least once during the $Cati token claim event, but nothing happened.
I'm not sure if the core developers of TON patched a fix to handle the next airdrop event, but whatever they did, it worked fine during the Cartizen drop event. It's impressive to see that the network and related decentralized DApps(Wallets) were operational.
In this post, we'll be looking at how web3 continues to strengthen as more projects launch on the TON network.
After witnessing the successfully launched mini-apps and exploring the yet-to-be-launched projects in the App Center, I can confidently say that the web3 space is alive with creativity. The future of airdrops is not only more accessible but also more appealing to mainstream users, which is the aim to onboard them into the crypto world.
I will also use this opportunity to appreciate everyone involved in ideating and implementing the Telegram feature that enables mini-apps to be built. Without this great idea, the crypto onboarding and rewards distributed amongst participants thus far wouldn't have been possible.
Given the continued use of Telegram and its projects, we shouldn't ignore the utility token of the network, $TON. As I write this, the price of $TON is $5.43.
If you've been engaging with Hamster Kombat since Notcoin launched, you’d know there’s been a lot of anticipation around their airdrop event. The hype surrounding Hamster Kombat has been a real rollercoaster. Let me explain:
After Notcoin, Hamster was expected to be the next big project, but since they delayed their launch, the excitement faded. However, the buzz started to build again after they announced their Token Generation Event (TGE).
The hype brought them a lot of users, which may have been one of the reasons for the delay. But thankfully, they're finally listing on the 26th of September 2024.
There are other projects that launched around the same time as Hamster, such as Tapswap and Yescoin. These projects also received the hype they deserved back then, but not anymore. Hopefully, they will get listed soon, because it feels like it's been forever, and everyone has lost interest in them.
What do you think about the upcoming event? Could it lead to network congestion like Dogs did?
