One more 2 drachmai coin for today. This one is from the period of the 1 Drachma and both coins bear the portrait of a hero from the War of Greek Independence; Constantine Kanaris (1793-1877) was in the 1 drachma coin and here we see hero Georgios Karaiskakis (1782-1827), a famous Greek klepht, armatolos and military commander. On the other side the 2 drachmai coin has two crossed rifles with a branch.
