What do you think about the Pi Network cryptocurrency project (https://minepi.com/)? 🤔 I have made a post about that about 2 months ago, but got only 2 users who replied.
The facts I have gathered about the project so far are the following:
- The project requires you to visit their app every 24 hours, or the mining will pause.
- The project is in beta, so there is no blockchain yet.
- The project requires users to verify their identity to prevent getting kicked out as bots or fake accounts. On signup, the project requires the download and installation of a mobile app, which then requires the user to supply their real name and phone number. The team members of the project said that they will try to make the identity verification "minimally intrusive".
- The project requires you to recruit your friends (and confirm that you personally know them), or you will be stuck at minimum mining efficiency.
- While the name of the project refers to the Greek letter pi (π), it does not use the value of Pi at all. The only mention of π in the project is that they celebrate Pi day (March 14).
- The app displays a lot of ads and already supplies the project team with ad revenue, according to its users who left feedback on Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

I have no opinion on it and no reason to get involved in something like that. There are too many other opportunities right here on Hive.
The fact it isnt a blockchain yet is a bit of a concern I would say. But outside that, it is a mining project. What is the point of it overall?

The project team says that it is a new type of cryptocurrency, where mining is based on a Proof-of-Trust model where people vouch for each other and increase the mining speed of each other. 🕵️♂️ That is the point of the project, and I hope I answered your question! 😅
I am aware that Hive (after Steemit) is new in the Proof-of-Brain mining model (along with
DelegatedProof-of-Stake). 🤔Could be a viable project. I know nothing about it. There are a lot of experiments going on.
If you can amass some tokens in it, hen it could really pan out for you if it takes off.
A few others mentioned it. There is a lot going on.

I had their app on my mobile but it takes up too much of processing power and I faced heating issues. So uninstalled it. What's your experience @savvyplayer? And thanks for letting me know about Hivesearcher. Looks useful.

I have never used it myself, because the identity verification requirement (just for a cryptocurrency) and reviews from its users on app sources already turned me away from that project. 🙁 Thanks for asking! 😃

It also seems to be spammed all over the Internet, not just on Hive! 😬😅
I se it pumped and talked about a lot on traditional social media...YouTube videos galore for it...But never used it myself, no real desire either yet.
