Over the past few months I have been onboarding friends and associates to the leofinance suite of products.
Such Time, Much Effort...
Nearly all these people I consider friends and I have helped get them setup on LEO and for some of them, Cubdefi as well.
Now for anyone that has been in crypto, you know that onboarding someone that has no crypto experience directly into leofinance and then CubDefi really isn't the natural route of progression.
The majority of us here we're into crypto for a bit before leofinance and especially cub finance existed.
Even for the crypto veteran, you can still get a little confused starting out on these platforms.
Needless to say these onboards take some time and are usually one on one or one on a few at most.
The follow up questions last for quite some time too.
So you might wonder, if this is taking that much effort and time, why am I still doing it?
The growth of the community is the success
That is the beauty of all this. I'm often not being paid to spend several hours with each of these people, but that is where the beauty of leofinance is.
As I onboard people it leads to more people for me to curate. It also leads to more people that can vote my posts as well.
Now granted, I do not expect anyone I onboard to vote me, but odds are most of them will because my account in a way is their "genesis block." It is the first account they see when learning about how to function and operate on LEO since it is being used as the example when teaching about LEO.
Let's all rise together!

It is a great idea to onboard people to the platform, like you said most of us don't have the experience about cryptocurrency before joining the blockchain and I believe that's will help now to promote others with the ideas now been generated to show others that path to progress as well
I was just checking out one of your videos this afternoon.
I agree on the importance of onboarding. Not just to LeoFinance, but to crypto in general. Only good things can come from it, provided they don't go mortgaging their house to go all in on a shitcoin 🤣

Haha, ain't that the truth!

It will be worth it in the long run.
For leo to be a success it need smore users and more consumers.
All of these will help us grow going forward.
I haven't brought anyone directly to LEO but i do have a few of my friends now reading content here and creating views.
I brought a few into hive but none lasted.

Views help in the search engine ;-)

Great perspective. In order for the community to grow, we need to attract new users.

That makes a lot of sense, but not just for you. This helps all of us as well!
Bringing more people to LF creates more audience, meaning more contents, more quality information, more upvoters and so on.
This is something we all should do.
Thanks for this thought
Yes, team effort!

Onboarding people helps all of us but damn is the process complicated for non-crypto people. Had a chance to onboard a friend to Splinterlands and a game on Wax. Took more than an hour just to get the accounts set up and one more to explain why he needs RC, powered up Hive, rented RAM and CPU on Wax...
One big beautiful mess.

Exactly, that is the big issue. The user experience needs to be much easier, which I believe will come with time.

Being the genesis block for new people to Crypto is great, amazing feeling, but i often feel a burden also. If it goes wrong for them it might affect your relationship. Sometimes i choose not to be an advocate to avoid this.
Yeah, I hear you. That is why either it's onboard to leofinance, which costs nothing. Or if they put money in I say Vegas Money only. Only money they would take to the casino is the amount I will help them get in with.

So far I have successfully onboarded one person to Cub Finance and I personally manage their account. The rest of the people I talked, they don't want to spend their time and energy learning all the steps they have to follow to do this.
But we keep trying. If I could get 1 person onboarded out of the 100 I talk to, that's a win.

Yeah, most people just want to give me their money and do it for them instead of learning lol.

Onboarding people is quite a challenge indeed and I admire those who put the effort into that.
My first real contact with crypto was through Hive and Leo so I know firsthand how had it is for new people to stick around. I haven't been able to onboard anyone yet but I haven't given up.

Yeah, the struggle is real.

What you're doing is really great. It is really difficult to explain even cryptocurrencies to many people. Most people don't care if the project is good or bad (especially those without crypto experience). Most people just focus on the rise and fall of the price.
To grow our community we need to educate and inform them, it's grueling but well worth it.
Thank you for your effort and I wish you continued success.

Thanks, yes it is a grind but its all about the bigger picture.

Interesting point, I like this vision you have for the future, it makes me think about what I should do too.

All hands on deck :-)

Fully agree with this. Leo is a little harder being that people have to be interested in blogging and finances which limits but the best part is many I know like DeFi or want to learn more about it and CUB actully makes a new awesome entry point for lead capture I've been doing since this time last year.
Word of mouth and helping someone is going to be critical during these times we have been doing it for the last year now. It's slow for sure as there's a lot more effort that has to go into it but LEO did a great job with easier onboarding/signup process than many other applications. Now we just need the further expanding use cases which are coming down the pipeline.

To onboard new person that doesn't has experience for Crypto currency is not easy. Because require a lot of work. Thanks for the good work.

Onboarding new members to the community is a great way to grow the Leofinance project. I'm glad that I have been the gateway to many people joining Hive.
If every existing user does this then growth will be rapid. Team effort is always key.

I've spent an ungodly amount of time doing that and most of the time it is ultimately in vain. But I think your approach is good and the content you are now creating for newbs is extremely valuable.
For most, Leofinance/Hive will be the most success they will ever achieve in crypto. This grind cannot fail while 99% of everything else will.
