I think for serious writers the platforms compliment each other very well. Hive allows you to monetize quickly and participate in a new kind of social media as well as plan for a decentralized future. Meanwhile Substack is good for finding a niche audience regardless of topic.
I think many people will want to use both. I use it instead of X now.
